It's a really good album. Has an aggressive, raw, menacing feel with a good dose of rebellion throughout. "Beggar's Night" may be my favorite track. The compositions and musicianship are strong.
Rolf, how about releaseing those live footage anyway? Many fans want them, and I dont think many cares if its cutting edge bluray or the best sound quality.
Has ever said why the big shift towards piracy as a lyrical theme? It's interesting how they started out as a black metal band and became power metal about pirates.
He saw a trailer for the movie "Pirates" of Roman Polavski and he thought that Jolly Roger is a great name so he started writing lyrics about piracy. He went to the studio and the band agreed to have this as a theme for their album.
