The ads for the new white gold card looked a lot like a white card with Gold Trim and Gold Logo. I really liked that design. Not happy with what I got in the mail. Definitely looks like a faded platinum card. Think I might switch out for Rose Gold at this point.
Everyone thought it would be a White card with gold on it, not realizing they went for actual white gold which is more silver in appearance. The problem is the outline and lettering is more like a faded yellow, which gives it that faded platinum look.
It looks like it was described. It's between gold and platinum. I think we're just used to seeing the classic gold design and that's why people are not liking this one. This white gold design has started to grow on me. I'm definitely keeping it
😂😂😂 As soon as I got my White Gold, I kid u not, I ordered my replacement back to OG Gold. Lol. Da fuck were they thinking with this new color wave? Lol
Glad I never switched from the Rose Au card. Thanks for showing this new White Au card. Looks too much like the Pt Amex. I would have gotten the two confused in my wallet.
I just received the white gold card yesterday and what a disappointment. The color looks awful and the card is thinner. I immediately called Amex and requested a rose gold card.
The outlining on the white gold card is barely there. It doesn't look "subdued" it just looks old and faded. I was not impressed when I got mine. If they are looking to change up the platinum though, I think they should do a holographic shift - THAT would look really cool 😊
After you last video, I decided to switch to White Gold via my account. Received it Thursday of last week. Not really impressed. I'll probably hold onto it for a year and switch back to the "Classic" Gold. Also, got a statement surprise. Went out with a couple friends for lunch and got a Resy credit. Unknowingly to me, the place is on Resy and it's a place where you wouldn't think it's on Resy.
Got mine. If the black accents were black, I would like the card. So, I switched back to my Rose Gold. I hope AMEX notices that a lot of people don't like the new design and they relaunch a new design.
I got mine last week! Replaced Rose Gold with the White Gold, for both me and my dad (AU). I'll definitely be keeping the card, since I live in Massachusetts (meaning the Dunkin credit benefits me very much, though I just reload my balance by $7 and that triggers it).
How come I didn’t get the second envelope? I only got the one white envelope with the card and a small foldable flyer explaining the Resy and Dunkin credits 😭😭
The second envelope is not connected to the white gold. It doesn’t even have the white gold pictured. It’s simply for all gold card holders to inform them of the changes. He just happened to receive them at the same time.
I like it; it seems they made it because you can't really use your platinum for everyday transactions. So they made this platinum look a like card. Platinum feels with a Gold Amex strength. :
I like the card color, but they should have contrasted the text, border, and logos better with a darker color. The way it is now just looks very faded/washed out.
I ordered mine, it got lost in the mail last week, amex has no idea where it is and said dont order another one. I ordered another one now have to wait 3 weeks for it smh
Reverted back to my rose gold. When not directly lit, the white gold has too much green in the emboss parts. The “white” area looks more flat grey than the platinums cool toned silver. Someone did comment this morning ina drive thru “is that the new one?!” If it looked more like the marketing materials, it would probably be better received.
@@Smart_Think sorry I thought he was a Brit,- it means that as a resident or even as a guest or naturalized citizen, whatever his status is, he appreciates this country, why else would he display the American flag? Good for him! Why is that so offensive? or odd? Sorry woke princess, the rainbow flag is not our national symbol.
@@Polostar79 was he born in the Uk and lived in Australia for a period of time then? I don’t know if Ben has ever spoken about his back story on the channel, if you’re just going by the accent though as a brit myself Ben doesn’t have a British accent, its most certainly an Australasia accent. And he’s obviously living in the states because here in the Uk Amex don’t even offer the Gold charge card anymore we only have the plastic Gold credit card now which kinda sucks.
Never switched to the white gold from my rose gold. My husband did... And we both hateeee it in person. He thought about it for a day after receiving it and immediately contacted Amex to switch it back to rose gold 😂
A “faded AMEX Platinum”. OUCH!!! Mine should be arriving in 5 days. My husband is gonna give me a hard time (he has the platinum). At least I know it can be changed back to Rose Gold.
Well, the problem is that the graphic image on marketing items for the "White" gold card, looks completely different from how the card looks in person. However, in 2024, my go to American Express card is their business "Plum" card. The "Plum" card's graphic image looks, just like the card does in your hands (smile ... smile).
This was exactly my experience when I received the Amex White Gold card , it looks and feels nothing like what Amex has used in the promotional materials or even on Apple Pay . I will use it for a couple months and move back to the old design. Very misleading
Conspiracy theory: Amex made the card look like a faded Platinum card on purpose so the casual onlooker will see it and think it’s a “cool metal card”, then look online and find the Platinum card thinking this is it, and apply for that instead, increasing revenue for Amex via higher annual fee.
Thanks Ben, great video as usual. Would you know if I can use Resh credit in Australia? We do have resy restaurant booking here, although it is limited, but my American Express gold card is from the United States.
I signed up last week cause of the 100k SUB and picked the Classic Gold card. I was contemplating on getting the White Gold but I'm on the fence on the colour. I kinda like it and kinda don't 😅
Received my white gold replacement two days ago. It just did not meet any of my expectations. It doesn’t look anything like the website pictures. The back of the card even looks kinda green in some light. Long story short: don’t like it, switched back to classic gold a few hours ago.
Didn't pull the trigger only got offered 60K for $6K spend in 6 months tried logging in, and incognito both got the same offer people were getting 90K and 100K had I received either of those I might have applied
I don't care what color the card is or how it is packaged. I just renewed mine at $250 with a retention bonus that probably makes it worth keeping for one last year. I am getting tired of the AMEX coupon book approach. I want cards that offer travel benefits that make travel easier and more enjoyable, i don't remember the last time I was at Dunkin. I find the whole thing insulting, a bit like tourists tossing coins in the water for poor local children to dive for.
Love the US flag! - Also, I used my Resy credit on the first day! by the way I'm attempting to transfer points to delta for miles, but it doesn't seem to be 1-1 ratio. Is that normal? I'm on the Delta site.
I switched and I must admit, I like the classic Gold better. I'm gonna hold on to it for a while, then switch back
Ha! Me too!! There's something about that retro gold look.
I never switched from the Classic Gold after seeing unboxings on RUclips for the White Gold. Seeing the way it looks, glad I kept my Classic Gold.
Rose gold > classic gold > temu platinum lol
More like classic gold > rose gold > white gold 🤣

I got mine on Wednesday and hated it! I called and had it switched back to the Rose Gold the next day.

Thanks for this. I was on the fence with upgrading to this color too. Yeah sticking with the rose gold.

Thanks. Will stick with the rose gold version.
My daughter is an AU on my account and just recently received the White Gold card. After about a day she realized she hated it and sent it back.
I tried to get it for my wife, but they said they can't deliver to my address
I just received mine. Not how I thought it would look. Still like my Rose Gold version
I got my white gold AmEx card the other day.. I'm going to keep using my rose gold card!
I switch back to the rose gold. Didn't like the white gold. The rose gold is more copper looking to me and I love the copper look.
😂😂😂 As soon as I got my White Gold, I kid u not, I ordered my replacement back to OG Gold. Lol. Da fuck were they thinking with this new color wave? Lol
Team White Gold baby!!! Haters gonna hate!
Gave the new gold to my AU cuz I had a feeling that the white color wouldn't look as crisp as it does in the advertising. Kept my classic card.
I’ll be sticking with my regular gold card but I actually like the look of the white gold way more in the video than the initial photos
Glad I never switched from the Rose Au card. Thanks for showing this new White Au card. Looks too much like the Pt Amex. I would have gotten the two confused in my wallet.

I got the rose gold when it was released but have switched to the classic gold which I really like. Plus it’s a good contrast to my platinum.
I won’t lie, it looks bad indoors but with natural lighting it looks pretty good.
I got my today, and did not like that much indoor. Will check tomorrow outdoor to see if I get a better impression before send it back 😅

Wonder what color Amex will bring for their platinum cards ? I think it’s just matter of when for platinum to get different color
I switched and hate it tbh. Still think rose gold is the best one.
Classic gold for the WIN
So glad you did a video on this topic
I like the card color, but they should have contrasted the text, border, and logos better with a darker color. The way it is now just looks very faded/washed out.
I have the Amex Platinum card and if they changed the Gold card like this I am wondering how they will change the platinum one.
With they used the white gold and then made the outline of gold super bright or super dark to give the card a pop
I ordered mine, it got lost in the mail last week, amex has no idea where it is and said dont order another one. I ordered another one now have to wait 3 weeks for it smh
Same, exactly the same thing happened to me. I talked to a rep should have it by the end of this next week hopefully
I never had the metal gold but I prefer the rose gold that I had compared to the new one.

now we don’t have to go for the platinum one cause it looks pretty damn close. these cards aren’t all that anyway except for the flex factor 😂
I hate mine. I have the original gold coming back 😂
Me too! 😂
Just got mine as well

I only got this card to chuck it in my old credit card box and I’ve already switched to the recycled plastic Gold card to see what that looks like.
Looks like a platinum card
Dunkin was a bit of a miss. Probably better to partner with Starbucks
Got my white gold card and sent it back the same day. Told the Amex Agent it looks like a faded platinum card. Keeping my yellow gold card.

I got one…. And was immediately underwhelmed 😕
The Online Card Art is waaayyyyy better than reality. Looks faded and blah. I'll keep it and switch back to my original after a while.
It doesn’t look anything like the ads make it appear to look. Back to the regular gold.
You were excited as shit and couldn’t wait to share with us! Thanks!
Got mine, kinda just looks like a real faded gold card, not sure how I feel about it yet
It’s actually white gold… not white. Best looking in my opinion.
$325 per year for white gold coloring 😆
Mine came with a print error and has a blue smudge in the upper left hand corner. Anybody else get the same issue?
It looks like the titanium ranger
I will not be requesting it, I'll keep my rose gold
Glad I kept the rose gold lol
I got it and I hate it. I'm switching back to the original gold
Good card for dinner !!
I call for a collab video between you and anthony venture. I dont know anyone who loves credit cards more than u two
it looks really bad. i got mine just for collection purposes lol. it even looks green in certain lights
I hate it. Will be requesting my original gold back. 😅
Totally dropped the ball on white gold, like who approved it looks like a mistake or unfinished production
I sent the new one back LOL...keeping the old school gold.
I got mine Friday … looks faded not great
Wish I kept my classic gold card. New one is fugly.
Merica !!!
It’s not as good in person as online
Looks nothing like the advertised card
Hated the new color. Requested a new original Gold.
As long as it works that’s all I care about
its temu platinum
It does look like a faded out platinum card
Trump 2024
Lol yes brother
Honestly the renderings from Amex looked just as bad, idk why anyone is surprised. Keeping my rose gold version
Let's give them the ruined platinum cards 😂
Literally looks like a platinum in the video…. No thanks on this one.
