Just getting into bow hunting and your channel has quickly become my favourite.
There's so much marketing and product placement over on the compound bow side of youtube it makes you feel like you need to drop 5k just to get started.... your content is much more down to earth and realistic.

    Jason,
Thanks for the content. This is my first season out. I was dressed in all Walmart Clothes, no scent control over the weekend, just playing the wind. Got into 8-9 does within 10-20 yds. No expensive gear. Amazon trail shoes on my feet, I just made sure my clothes sat in the backyard or garage for a day or so prior to hunting. Thank you for advocating a common sense approach to hunting.

Hey Jason, hope this doesn’t come off weird but damn do I
Wish I would have had a father in my life like someone like yourself. 34yrs old and wish I had the knowledge like yourself to pass onto my boys. Or even had someone raise and teach me along the way. But we do live in a time where we have this thing called the internet and we have people out there like yourself that seem to be a good genuine person that’s willing to pass on what they know to other people. And people you don’t even know non the less. So just wanted to say I really do appreciate all the content and knowledge or even personal experience you put out. Even though I never had that growing up, it did teach me what I do and do not want for my kids. Although I’m learning that a lot of this is just getting out there and putting in the time and work there’s things that just come with years and years of doing it like yourself. So thank you for being that person that I can look up to and learn and help grow from. Good luck this season too.

I would have got pulled over by the cop that did a u turn and missed many turns trying to talk about a topic that got me going. Well done

Your points are spot on. People need to evolve their thinking. I remember a time back in the late 60s when the phrase "made in Japan" implied poor quality and nowadays some of the best electronics and cars are made in Japan - and the same is true today with China. it's no longer "China-made" from your grandfather's time. Nowadays made in China means they've taken the time to evolve their manufacturing and quality processes and today produce some pretty good quality stuff. If China fall short on one thing it's intellectual property protection and that's more function of their collectivist society than anything else but a lot of their Chinese made archery products are quite reliable and a solid value in performance for what they cost

Buying things I don't need saves the most money. I'm not the guy who says, "I saved $ on this xyz." No, I spent $xyz. I look at everything people say they need to kill a big buck. NOT TRUE. Most Pope and Young and Boone and Crocket bucks were killed pree 2000's with very little as compared to modern times. People do not see or kill more or bigger bucks now than pre-2000. Keep it simple. Get a used bow or crossbow, some arrows/bolts, some heavy fixed blade broadheads, a mobile treestand with sticks/pull rope, a release/crossbow pull rope, a range finder, a backpack, a sharp knife, a hay bale and paper plate for target practice, a Molley gear hanging strap, a grunt call, some milkweed some comfortable boots and warm clothes. Everything else is not needed to find and kill a big buck in the big woods or farm/forest terrain! #BigBuckInTheTruck2024

    • @SamkoTradBow

@Eddy-rq7ge all tradbows today from 100 dollar black hunter and 150 dollar samick sage all the way to 1000 dollar custom bows. All great. Best think you can do it hit a store or archery shop by you that carries a couple trad bow and do some testing and find out your draw and weight and what you like best. And shoot a couple. Then you will know your requirements and can buy online if you want. But all bows today are great bows

Good advice and not just for hunting stuff. If i need it i buy quality stuff and try to take care of it. But ive seen too many old boys in flannel shirts and blue jeans, using older but adequate equipment, killing mo re deer than anybody else, to worry about it.
