They do make good brushes! They will last you for years! As a teen and into my early 20’s I used RT , replaced them with morphe as RT gave out, the natural hair makes a huge difference in powder application. Now in my early 30’s I am slowly adding to the morphe with smith one at a time. Every few months I’ll buy ONE smith brush at a time. It feels like a waste to spend more than $30-$40 at a time. Though you only need 1-2 of each , since this time I am keeping the M brushes around. I know the smith brushes will last me the rest of my life as the morphe brushes fail me over time.
I want to say that she mentioned using Bio Gel during one of her earlier (2020) videos during the COVID lockdown. She stated that she hadn’t been able to get them done because of COVID and that she loves the look and durability. I remember this because I felt the same about her nails.

(eyeshadow blender and angled face brush are fluffy and soft and beautiful and CRUELTYFREE) plus i have three of the dual ended sephora collection brushes (also so soft and durable!) and that's basically my entire collection of tools plus an elf sponge. great vid Lan!
Jamie Genevieve taught me the BEST way to easily deep clean your brushes! She uses a fine mesh sieve to swirl her soaped up brushes. I've tried it and it's now the only way I clean them! 🥰🥰
Ever since I started watching this channel, I’ve purchased a ton of Smith and Rephr brushes and let me say, my makeup game stands changed 🤗🤗🤗 they are such GORGEOUS brushes 😍 PS I’ll totally mail Smith as well
Loved this video!!! I wash my foundation brush and almost all brushes (just once in a while, not every time, unless they really need it) in antibacterial soap (like Dawn), and to help really help kill germs - before the antibacterial soap, soak just the head of your brushes in one part apple cider vinegar, two parts water, then wash as usual. It should help! Really loved EDM!!! ❤ xx
I love MAC and Real Techniques brushes too. I just bought the 170S recently. MAC and Real Techniques are my favorites. I might try some Ulta brushes because I am on a budget.

I think when you peered into that MAC 170 brush, I saw a teeny little bacteria wave back at me.😜 The nicest brushes I’ve ever used are those by Trish McEvoy - I still have several that I’ve owned for 20 yrs! And the ones I WISH were still available: Eleanor Mondale and a friend started a brush company called The Three Janes, but after her death nothing much happened with the line. She brought them into the shop where I worked and the brushes were GORGEOUS!

They are probably my number one brand and I have a big collection. I also love the BK Beauty brushes by Lisa J here on RUclips and I also have Sigma and Sonia G. I have one collection of Sonia G. with the wooden handles. However the brush collection I have now I love so much I think I’m good on brushes for now. 💚💜💚
i have one of those brush mats and really helps me get my brushes clean! but i notice with the dense brushes it is harder. i let mine soak sometimes first. i use a really gentle cleaner so it doesn’t mess up if i leave them in the soapy water for a while
They are different cause they change to Synthetic brushes, hence the "S”, their previous brushes were mostly natural hair, the difference is abysmal. Hope that helps.
I use brushes for everything ..Maybe a beauty blender to blend out under eyes just at the end if necessary. I just don’t like getting make up all over my hands it irritates me emotionally LOL I am going to pick up that MAC foundation brush today. I bought three Reffr brushes and they really are amazing. For dense brushes I use a eye lash separator, the weird rake looking tool haha and I push it into the dense part at the bottom while running the brush under water

They are both the same, the old one a little bit more fluffy, but I’ve it used more. I liked the natural hair brushes from BB more.

Thanks for the roundup of your fav brushes Lan. So how I clean my more dense Kabuki brush is by using one of those rubbery type brush cleaning trays (whatever ya want to call them lol) that have on one side with longer points & on other side shorter little stubs and I just use some gentle soap / shampoo & swirl my brush around & mine does a good job of cleaning & getting in those more dense brushes & just all brushes in general. Like, I could never go without again. It's changed my brush cleaning game lol. It wasn't expensive, from the drugstore (maybe Real Techniques?!? Love you fam xoxo 😘💕🧡🖌 P.S. My Nudestix mini set came yesterday!! Can't wait to play with some Picante 🌶
I use a pump of my cleansing oil, to get foundation and concealer out of any brush or sponge. I apply the oil to the dry brush, rinse and then follow with a soap to give the brush a second cleanse. They come out spotless every single time.
My first makeup brush was the Sephore 045 Mineral powder brush that everyone on RUclips used for liquid foundation. I still use it for that purpose and it's been 10 years??? I like the idea of investing in brushes like Smith cosmetics that last years instead of replacing cheaper brushes every year, however I don't think that brand is easily available in Europe :( That being said I really rate RT brushes and they are affordable, their setting brush is a fave of mine as well. I enjoyed seeing your favourite brushes, so useful to see them in action.

I love the mac 170 brush! I put it in a cup of water and soap and let it soak and that gets a lot helps clean the bottom of the bristles
