I have a very small head so I took my head cover to get tailored. I had them sew it way smaller. I also have the be:1 head cover which is crazy warm. But again had to have it re sewn as it was huge too
Never was into scentlok. But I'm big time into fleece and wind blocking. You convinced me and I bought the Wind Brace jacket today. Thanks for all your videos, the 2021 season will be my first in a Mantis. I can't wait for archery season! God bless!
Thank you for your service . Never forget. I use scentlok alpha jacket super soft and plenty of storage. I also have the pants with built in spider harness really like it but it collects burs badly. Super quiet. Not very wind proof.
Wow this wind brace Scentlok pants& coat are incredible! You can truly tell they're made of great quality and comfort plus carbon!! Thank you very much for this video man cause there are so many different styles of scentlok some just like you said not so good but others that were absolutely INCREDIBLE 2nd to none.. But its easy to see how somebody could buy a style that isn't so good and they end up with a bad opinion of scentlok but had they got the right style like for example the wind Brace set up they would have a whole different opinion. Thanks again for this very valuable information! 💪💪💪🏹🎯
Nice I just received the heavy weight base layers and the Wind brace set on the way to me tomorrow..lol Looking forward to getting the Wind brace because the base layers are Awesome! I agree with you!
I really like my scent lock gear! I have the Savanah head cover and I may be one of the few that like the fit! Tight at the neck loose around the face. I am also looking forward to your part 2 of the Missouri trip! I keep looking for it😊
Bought Full Season jacket/pants several years ago. I rarely wear the pants for the same reason you stated. Leg zippers! I absolutely love the jacket though. Quality construction and fit. With the right layers I hunt down in the 20’s. Maybe I’ll invest in some of the new SL base layers you mentioned. Thanks!
Just got my scent-loc yesterday. I went out and shot with it on & It's by far the queitest and most comfortable hunting clothing I've ever had, I got the Savannah attack shirt and Savannah aero pants for warm weather & the taktix set for cold. The only complaint is the head covers are huge! Sending them back.
It can big daddy. It can also defeat a yotes nose too. You dont have to have the fanciest stuff either. I bought oversized sentlock top and sentock pants in a nonmatching camo. I can wear a warm gortex thinsallate suit under it. I bought my stuff 10 years ago at farm and home on sale at the very end of the season. Still highly serviceable. I wash everything in earth scent then douse in earth scent spray. Works awesome. Thanks for your service to our country.
I 100% believe ScentLok works. I'm just not sure how much scent it actually stops. All of it? Most of it? I wish we could smell through a deers nose!!!!
I wore Scentlok from the days they just made liner suits with no camo, it works the same way that u process a deer. U gut your deer in a swamp & expect it 2 taste as good as a deer that I hate from the rear legs & remove the hide b4 gutting & put in a cooler 4 like 5 days @ 35*. That is the difference with Scentlok but only if u use the mask & get used 2 wearing a mask. I wear a 3M double filter mask 2 & from my stand & if it's cold in the stand. Real game changer.
So... before I say this I will first say everything I own is Scentlok. It’s the only brand I ever use. With that said. Those heavyweight base layers are not as warm as you are claiming. They are warm yes but I just went out this morning in Michigan. 26degrees and I’m wearing the following... lightweight base layer, heavyweight base layer, sweat pants, and mid season tactix outer layers and I’m wearing the reactor vest which ended up not working on me today unfortunately. I was freezing after less than 2 hours. I want to get the fortress but the point of my comment is to reassure people that you won’t be walking out of the woods anywhere near late season in just a heavyweight base layer lol.
Great review! I use SCENTLOK and thinking about purchasing some base layers. In your opinion, are the base layer pants a tight fit? Like a loose fit so curious if I should go up a size.
Scentlok absolutely 100% works!! Of course it’ll work better for less stinky folks than say a homeless dirty hobo, but it’ll still help said hobo. Personally, I use 3 layers; 2 base layers and 1 jacket/pant lay along with double mask hoodie thingy, socks and gloves. Numerous times I’ve had deer downwind with 15 yards that didn’t spook. 1st time used I had 2 bucks and 3 does with 15y and the led buck stopped, lifted its head smelled for few seconds and proceeded and the other buck 3 does also did not spook. Of course miles will very person to person, but however you slice it, the technology does work. It’s far better than sprays and shampoos, that’s for damn sure.
What are your thoughts on Merino wool?? I have the socks and they definitely don't stink like regular socks. Warm also. I know alot.of high ends use Merino. Was thinking about getting some First lite or Sitka.
The problem I have with scentlok is there sizes don’t come in tall. I’m 6’3”. Nothing they make fits. I’ll pay the extra money for Sitka wear they accommodate all sizes.
I HATE my head cover. I wear a 7 5/8 hat with my OCP’s and this thing is still huge on me. I ditched it and just store my regular face mask in activated carbon.
You can definitely tell a difference between wearing normal gear and then scentlok gear. One day in the forest and normal gear smells like sweat/the woods, my scentlok smells like absolutely nothing when I've finished wearing them. No argument on that...
Check out First Lite clothing. Designed by a great group of hunters out west (USA). Keeps you dry, cool and warm and I mean warm. True layering system that is designed well and by true hunters. You’ll never buy another brand of hunting clothing again trust me
@@mikeguy9668 I started with scent loc and it was great, but would last more than two seasons for me. First lite is on a whole different level and you get what you pay for.
@@ghostface6335 i still wear scentlok gear from 16 years ago. Dont get me wrong, I've got first light and Sitka gear, but the juice ain't worth the squeeze for me
Ur surprised that stuff u buy in the civilian world is better than mil spec stuff? Maybe yall had good stuff in the army but they gave us absolute trash in the marine corps and I'm here to tell ya I have nerve damage in my fingers from the lack of reliability that the gear they gave us had.
Good comments. I wish scent-Lok made their clothing in the US instead of communist china. When I saw your dogs I was expecting that you would use them to test the scent-Lok clothing scent elimination effectiveness.
I have a very small head so I took my head cover to get tailored. I had them sew it way smaller. I also have the be:1 head cover which is crazy warm. But again had to have it re sewn as it was huge too
Thanks for the honest review Greg, great feedback!
Really excited about the wind brace! Thanks for making this helped a lot !

Great to hear! That wind brace is money!
Waiting on my windbrace from Scentlok now and i have the Taktix suit as well...thanks for the info bro!
Good info thanks
Thanks a lot!!!
I have had my tactix suit for 2 seasons now and it is awesome! If Layered properly you can stay warm into the 20s
Thank you for your service . Never forget. I use scentlok alpha jacket super soft and plenty of storage. I also have the pants with built in spider harness really like it but it collects burs badly. Super quiet. Not very wind proof.

Woohoo! Glad to help!
I am liking your reviews.......excellent work...keep it up please.....thx Bob
Thx Bob!
Congrats on that Awsome Public Land Buck. 👍. Slammer !!!
Thanks!
Cabelas makes a great bib and coat combo with scentlok that is super heavy duty. Only for cold all day sits.
Love the Labs!
They're awesome!

Just posted. Thanks!!!!
I have a crosstec jacket, junk. Loud, arms aren't wind proof. Baselayers are awesome. Haven't sprung for a full suit. Good info.
I agree about the base layers. They're great.
Love your dogs. Base layers most crtical
i will know.....thank you
Good information
Get Sitka fanatic for cold

No full length zippers???? WHYYYY?????

Don't like the head covers either. The other stuff is great.
Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a new hunting jacket for Kentucky gun season. 👍 (edit: spelling)
Tell us about your 10 yr old camo...im interested in it
For cold gear, you can’t beat the revenant and BE:1 Fortress from Scentlok

down south I’m more concerned with warm weather scent control, .. few days do we have hard cold, but the entire bow season is warm
I 100 percent believe in scent lok. But it is a little work and extra effort to make them work.

How’s the fit of the Taktix and the heavyweight base layer?
Great review! I use SCENTLOK and thinking about purchasing some base layers. In your opinion, are the base layer pants a tight fit? Like a loose fit so curious if I should go up a size.
Scentlok absolutely 100% works!!

What’s your opinion on Scentlok now? Do you still use it? Do you believe it helps eliminate scent?
I like scentlok. They make great products.
Does the wind brace fleece have any give/stretch to it? Don’t want to feel bound up.
Looking to purchase the wind brace set is this set noisy in the stand?
Unfortunately all there headcovers are sized for andre the giant
😂😂😂😂 it’s true though
What are your thoughts on Merino wool?? I have the socks and they definitely don't stink like regular socks. Warm also. I know alot.of high ends use Merino. Was thinking about getting some First lite or Sitka.
I love Merino. I use MeriWool from Amazon. Cheaper and works GREAT.
How cold can you go with the scentlok base layer.
coldest day was 10 degrees in MO. I wore the ScentLok BL, heated vest (just did a review on that one), ScentLok Wind Brace and the Morphic Jacket.
When I wear the mask I break up my outline with a mesh 3D mask that I cut some of the face out of. Great combination together.
The problem I have with scentlok is there sizes don’t come in tall. I’m 6’3”. Nothing they make fits. I’ll pay the extra money for Sitka wear they accommodate all sizes.
I have the opposite problem. 5'7".
I HATE my head cover. I wear a 7 5/8 hat with my OCP’s and this thing is still huge on me. I ditched it and just store my regular face mask in activated carbon.
I completely agree. The head covers are giant!!!!! Horrible to get a good anchor on bow! Sending them back. But everything else is perfect!
Agree.
I found the Morphic set to be loud...way too loud for bow hunting. The rest of the stuff is awesome.
Agreed.
Put the heavy wt. Amp base layer under the taktix and you can go into the 30's
I believe it. I like the Tactix a lot.
You can definitely tell a difference between wearing normal gear and then scentlok gear. One day in the forest and normal gear smells like sweat/the woods, my scentlok smells like absolutely nothing when I've finished wearing them. No argument on that...
Agreed. It 100% works.
What happened to the deer you shot in Missouri? Did he get away?
Just uploaded Vid 2. Check it out :)
Very very expensive I still have my scent lok from 10 years ago
What was your dog sniffing at the beginning? 😏
My guess is blood :)
same report for the headcover, not a fan!
agreed.
Check out First Lite clothing. Designed by a great group of hunters out west (USA). Keeps you dry, cool and warm and I mean warm. True layering system that is designed well and by true hunters. You’ll never buy another brand of hunting clothing again trust me
Scentloc is just as good and half the price
@@mikeguy9668 I started with scent loc and it was great, but would last more than two seasons for me. First lite is on a whole different level and you get what you pay for.
@@ghostface6335 i still wear scentlok gear from 16 years ago. Dont get me wrong, I've got first light and Sitka gear, but the juice ain't worth the squeeze for me
Nothing for warm weather states like Florida is why I don't wear Scentlok
I agree. Where I am in southeast GA, I can't wear Scentlok for at least half our season...way too hot.
