ar has nothing to do with its random with each ball i still been catching the giratina's but this glitch means either it still hits but not hit the circle so not even a good throw or goes right threw the pokemon got to slow throw to avoid it.
@@basillah7650 it's not random. Toggling AR resets the glitch, but the glitch is caused by attempting to catch Giratina when it is up top. When it breaks out, the game still thinks it is up top even though it is shown in the lower position. So throwing when it's still down is glitched. But if it moves up, then throwing is no longer glitched. That's why it seems random, because you can trigger it and fix it during the encounter
A way to avoid the glitch…. Don’t spin the ball on the lower part of your phone.. spin it half way up on your phone and just adjust how hard you throw.. this glitch sucks but that will help a little
Okay, so I think I have the Giratina throw glitch figured out. It gets triggered when you throw at Giratina when you throw when it is up top and it breaks out. If you then throw when it is in the lower position, your ball physics behaves like it is still up top. Some things you can do to help: 1. Never throw when Giratina is up top 2. Only throw when Giratina is up top (after the first time you throw when it is up) 3. If you throw when Giratina is up top, wait until it goes up and then comes back down to throw again 4. If you throw when Giratina is up top, toggle AR on and back off (I haven't tried this yet, but several comments mention it and it makes sense since doing this resets the enounter) If you do 1. you should never encounter the glitch. 2., 3., and 4. resolve the glitch by fixing the state of the Pokemon. Note: Giratina is _really_ close compared to a lot of Pokemon, especially Legendaries, so even unglitched throws can feel a bit odd, especially in the lower position. It's a very short throw, almost like throwing at Pidgey but without the downward looking angle.
If you notice your throw at 10:17 when your buddy assists, the ball goes to the upper position despite Giratina being down at the time. Also, your throws when it was at the top, including the final Excellent, were not affected.
Problem is only people using remotes get raid passes back this happens with in person raids with premium or once a day raid pass as well they never get it back.
Yeah that’s happened to me every raid so far but thankfully have only lost one giratina. When he’s up close and personal if you veryyyy gently and softly throw your curveball it doesn’t spazz out but it’s also wayyyy easier to do it when he flies up higher so you can wait for that or just softly toss your curveballs. It’ll still happen but it’s at least a bit more manageable haha
The event is really not that bad now that it’s out. The research is 100% free, you can get plenty of research encounters to go for hundos, and the boosted shiny odds are nice.
it was bad in the middle of the week and different timed research every day sucked when not around lots of pokemon to do the pokestop one fast even the showcase did not run for the 3rd day
hey JTgily! if you slow the ball spin down you can throw the ball relatively more controlled. That's one way to counter the glitch thats been happening lately. I drag the ball towards the center of the screen ( as if the ball was in a slingshot and I want to drag it out from there) and then slowly spin the ball to make a controlled curveball throw. Try it out!
I was wondering why that was happening. I found that it works in the beginning, for a few balls, then it feels like I am throwing really hard. I can still get great throws fairly easy.
The bug is triggered by when Giratina float up and you throw the ball, and here is my way to kinda fix it : 1. Only throw when Giratina that is staying up or down, choose one to throw. 2. When you accidently throw the ball to a floating up Giratina, you just need to open the AR on the top right side and close it, it will reset the status of Giratina, and you can still throw normal balls to it and not getting the super fast balls. Hope everyone can get rid of this annoying bug !
If the bug does happen, make sure to report it immediately and screenshot your journal. My journal logs doesn't go very far so all the Giratinas I had this issues with yesterday during the Raid Hour, I pretty much have no history of anymore.
There is a way to avoid the glitch. Use circle lock, spin the ball gently when giratina attk and then release the ball below the circle quickly when giratina finish attking. It takes a bit of practice, after a few giratina raids you should be able to catch it easier.
I've said it a million times - raids should be a guaranteed catch. It's a paid feature and not catching the Pokémon at the end, for any reason, it literally value taken from the consumer. Best part of Go Fest was Beast Balls.
This glitch has been in the game for a while for any close up legendary that moves up and down, like Ho-Oh and Lugia as well, it happens when u throw a ball when the Giratina is upward so it locks the throwing arc that way until it resets- it’s bad lol

I did notice if I did 3 spins (with static circle, and at low position) the massive throw happened, but using 4 spins didn’t have the issue, so assume it is a timing issue(?)
I found a way to make it easier to throw the premier ball wait for giratina go up on the screen and slightly throw the ball from the right side screen.

I have caught mostly all of them, but I find that you barely touch your ball to throw it like it’s so close like barely even throw it like so gentle It’s worked for me. Plus I did a trade with my husband and we were not lucky friends, and he got a hundo I’m very happy for him. I hope you get your Hondo or Shando you’ve been looking for.
I got the hundo Origin Giratina nearly 2 years ago but that was after spending lots of money to get the shiny with shadow force... I nearly ran out of balls, if I didn't invite a best friend I would have lost it
Niantic needs to refund all the raid passes spent on giratina this massively affected me on my raid hour as well as many other raids I have done already
So apparently minun, plusle, and magnemite are supposed to be in the magnetic lure with boosted shiny odds but I’m getting maybe 10% spawn rate from them and the rest are the usual spawns. Broken? Intentional?
If you turn AR on the off again, it fixes this. Also, you can grab the ball, bring it up to gritina s face and literally "drop" the ball. I found this works regardless if you have the bug or not

Even though I couldn't really do all the magnemite quest to get the magnetic lure for my second one it was shiny, and the fourth was a hundo, also the second one that was a shiny I needed because I needed megnton from the first shiny magnemite I got on the event before the Magnetic Study Event
YES! everyone file a complaint to niantic. Luckily I got my hundo weather boosted Giratina with balls to spare but it was stressing me out yesterday during raid hour

All you have to do is press the ar toggle button and it resets the issue and you’ll have to do it with each throw etc

If you wait till he moves to the top of the screen, it'll reset the glitch throwing

Just exit the game and open it again if you're experiencing the ball glitch. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it don't.
When I found it out, I rushed to do raids so now pokemon GO has to give my passes back and I can keep the giratina too

I've been consistently getting excellent throws on giratina- do the lightest flick possible as low in the corner as possible. Haven't lost one.
I have a similar result. If I ever so slightly flick any bit harder it will launch though. I lost a 2096 CP one because 6 balls glitched out.

Have you tried going into AR mode and back when you get the Giratina glitch? According to JT Valor that works.

I was wondering why it was so close and deflecting my balls. But I got 2 shinies, so I wasn't too mad about it.
All you need to do at the catch screen is to flip AR on and then turn it off. The glitch is gone.
I definitely lost money with the raid passes as did alot of other people I'm sure with that glitch
