Thank you so much for @trenchbuilder for coming out with us! it was a lot of fun and can't wait to do more with him. Go check out his channel, link is in the description.
I have been a WW2 re-enactor for over 30 years and all I can say is welcome to one of the most addictive hobbies there is. Would love to try Vietnam I have a French Indo-China and Australlian kit. When I lived in Kansas City in the late 90's there was a group that even had VC and NVA re-enactors. Click my avatar think I have a few old videos posted of WW2 re-enacting.
*This brought back memories, when I was a grade school boy fighting WW II all over again with my neighborhood friends, way back in 1965. Back then, I was a lean, mean, killin' machine armed with this:* ruclips.net/video/hGhYbg3KVu0/видео.html
@@clemmc37 well there ain’t much you can do bout that, plus the sounds of animals and wind would block out most of the sounds, plus we’re doing the same thing actually guys in Nam did, they would have made pretty similar noise
1st Cavalry 1967-68… 11B … you knot heads stand up when you hear gunfire your dead ! When you hear the NVA take their AK off safety your knees better have already buckled… Your spread out far enough between each other, but if you even think someone might be up ahead of you … you never walk across a small clearing … after a half dozen firefights and medivac’ing a couple dozen dead and wounded … you’ll never 😢get another smile on your face … Just don’t do anything stupid like join the marines… I had to bail them out too many times in Vietnam… Remember the siege at Khe Shan was officially over when the 1st Cavalry walked thru the front t gate. I feel sorry for them damn though bastards
Also just curious, what gear did you all wear? Uniform, field gear, and what all hygiene/personal items did you wear? And if you had a rucksack or butt pack what all was on it or in it?

With the amount of noise you guys made walking through the woods you guys wouldn't make it 100yds before anyone knew exactly where you were.

Could you tell me the process of an ambush and how you react? Like once bullets start incoming what the plan is ?
