I could completely visualize the entire thing. The writers and the actors were superior to any current movies of any sort I’ve seen. These better than the tv shows. I used to watch the Suspense movies but these are even better.
Great episode with Mr. Conrad superb as always. Quite suspenseful & I could visualize everything, very skillfully done. I'm sure situations like this occurred in those days, families ekeing out a bleak existence on those remote, desolate prairies, dirt-poor, the constant howling wind, crops that won't grow, wives treated badly by husbands in many cases, people literally went mad. And almost totally non-existent social safety-nets back then for widows such as the one featured here. Very sad.

One of the very rare moments when someone acknowledges that Chester is an adept man of action despite the fact he also provides comic relief. Actually he's saved Matt's life countless times.
I see what you mean, though this isn't quite as horrific. I don't know if this story was based on something that happened in the 1800's or something that was more contemporary. I don't know what inspired "The Hills Have Eyes" either. But I think it can be assumed that crazy, murderous people, even families, have always existed. Freaky.
Dennis Weaver said once he decided to limp like that to help separate himself more from the leading man James Arness. He also said he regretted it because it led to pretty bad leg pain

I loved watching these growing up with my dad and uncle. Now I love hearing them on air.
