I’ve never really liked shaker cards in the past. This one has changed my mind! I love the use of the vellum, and using opposites on the color wheel makes for a beautiful combination in the coloring! And the cover plate…..brilliant!! Beautiful card!
Beautiful card. You amaze me. I would never guess a fancy, detailed cover plate die could be clean and simple. You did that and included just lovely as well. Thank you for teaching so clearly and effectively. You are a treasure in my crafting arsenal.
What a clever way to use a coverplate die. Will definitely give it a try. Lovely idea to use vellum instead if acetate on a shaker card. Gorgeous card. Thank you 🥰
Oh, that is dazzling! I would never have thought to use a cover plate for a shaker card, especially with vellum. I keep learning the most delightful things from you, Natalie!
Super card, Natalie and that is such a lovely cover plate die. I think with hindsight, we could always do something different, but I think it doesn't matter because the white on the back of the shaker elements matches the white of the card. It all ties in lovely. Thanks again for your ingenuity and ideas. xx
I tried something like this once, but it was very fiddly. Because it never occurred to me to add a frame like you did. Brilliant, and it has inspired me to try again!
You know how you get some really loud or ugly, over-the-top results from smooching experiments or Gelli plate time? Using vellum instead of acetate as a cover tones them down beautifully and makes them useful as backgrounds. And it will use up thin/cheaper vellum that I can't heat emboss on.
Lovely card. I love the idea of gluing a few shapes to the back of the panel for the reasons you mentioned . When you were cutting the cover plate with the brown paper on the back it got me thinking,do you ever do coloured paper cards? Like with brown or black card stock?
Absolutely love this Natalie.. thank you for sharing more inspiration! I'd also love to know where to get that beautiful cover plate please, or who is the manufacturer? Love it! ❤
