Some artists are better live singers than others, and that's inevitable since everyone's strengths+stamina are different. In the end, I view the ability to sing live well with choreography as an attractive selling strength of that artist rather than a necessity for recording artists in general. They're different from vocational stage performers such as musical/theatre artists who actually specialize in acting+singing with choreography, as far as I'm aware.
