MICRO SHUTTLE - HOW SMALL can you make a fully functional drop ship? Space Engineers

- This puppy has a full blown air recycle system, air tight locks, enough Hydro to get you where you want 4 SEATS!.. and of course... a yellow jacket color scheme. I designed this to be as small as possible to store in smaller ship hangars.

THE SUBTLE SHUTTLE
YES
YES!
I love how you have all this other interesting contraptions just being there, doing their stuff. Looks lively!. I ALSO love that shuttle! gonna have to stea... borrow some ideas :3
by klangs balls we know ya gonna steal it for ya own modding if its being droped make some personal alterings and be on ya way
just wanted to say, your style is utterly breathtaking and I hope to one day engineer things that work like these do. Great work!
I really appreciate it. I'll be here a while. I've got tons of stuff to show. 🤣
I love how you make this game feel alive. Even if it's on gps loops, it does wonders. This game has so much potential if they throw in a very solid AI. Excellent work!
Even AI Characters although I can imagine that'll be very hard to successfully program
@@abstract0014 I'm hopeful for whatever engine they're working on now. Different objectives and styles would be nice.
your base and builds are so aesthetically pleasing
Massive hydrogen tanks, small size, pressurized interior, seating for four in total, nice design, wait a minute I saw that giant truck again! Again!
Okay aside from the dozens of amazing looking creations on display here, I'm gonna have to kindly ask that you show us everything you've ever graced with your creative touch my good talented man!
The entire level download is in the description if you want to check out the House of Newfang. The truck is in there.
This is so cool! The interior looks super “realistic” on account of how well you considered the space against a design constant- like a designer might in an real world corcumstance!
One of my oft repeated challenges in SE has been to create a shuttle with a pressurised interior, seating for 4+ an emergency kit, that is capable of reaching the surface from orbit and back at least once on a full tank... And fits vertically dropped through two large gates placed back to back.
I have made one which could do all that.. but the "drop" was so tight that it was never even slightly practical, and re-docking was a nightmare. Lol
Not sure exactly what i like about it, but the engine blocks are giving me inspiration for sure. I love the greebling for sure. Small grid really allows you to make some great details
A beautiful little dropship.
My idea of a "shuttle" was more of an ultralight jump-capable transport for shuttling players and light cargo between larger spaceships and stations.
So far I've gotten one down to 9 large blocks long, 5 wide, and 3 tall, with a pressurized interior and docking port, and seats/beds for 6 engineers.
This though, seems like an excellent atmospheric (and trans-atmospheric) complement.
i feel like this is what you would have on a huge ship to transport you down to another planet Very Cool
That lil scooty is cute AF! .. In an industrial kinda way... :)
Nimble too..
I tried doing something similar, but with a working airlock. It weighed too much to be practical, but I did learn somethings like you only need a 3 high by 2 wide space to walk through while crouching. So I made a 3 by 3 door using two hinges connected together and merge blocks, (It was 3 by 3 so I could walk in on uneven terrain or while parked at a angle.) I then made a second door 5 blocks away and added vents. Although adding an airlock may not be practical it would be really cool on a ship that size and I love to see one.
Awesome work very clean looking and functional
AWESOME, I need this for all my shuttle bays.
dude i beg you to release that world on the workshop with all vehicles and structures that looks so amazing jesus christ
This
Do you want it as is or with a little more work?
@@newfang6234 honestly I would like to grab it as is but it's ok if you wanna add some more masterpiece I think.
I have subscribed to your workshop and it's sad that not all the works from your videos are there (especially those VTOL-s :D )
@@eugenereim456 my thoughts xD but he's right if u feel like adding more masterpieces of you do that if not upload that world :D
@@eugenereim456 this is true. I've been trying to make sure the subject of my videos are published before the vid goes live. I need to go back and see what's missing. It's actually more work than I thought it would be. 😅
Looking good :)
very nice
“AIR TIGHT JUST RIGHT”
Very cool! Can you add Closed Captions to talk about it during the tour?
Thanks for watching! I will be "upping my game".. at 1k subs. ;)
@@newfang6234 Well, full narration *would* help you get there faster.
Looks great, big thumbs up.
But, I noticed your parachute hatches in the back are turned so that they don't get fed canvases automatically (even though they are placed in a location where they could be if they were turned to open outward).
They would work fine facing sideways, so is it a design preference that you have to hand feed them?
How much fright does it haul
Is all the action in the background automated?
👍👍
Turtle shuttle
Can you upload the cargo jockey?
Absolutely

I have a question. All of your videos, you fly your ships as if they were planes (banking to turn, etc.) Are you using a mod to make your ships fly like this, or a script or something? If so, can you link it?
Well placed thrust, calibrated components - meaning you need to group your thrusters, use the reverse thruster groups as a "Trim". If you accelerate to a speed with your "reverse" thrusters OFF, it will smoothly cruise at that speed. Beware of your trajectory - you will accelerate as you descend. I use Keyboards, Q and E to bank. nothing special. Thanks for watching. If you have more questions, I may put out a video for simple settings that make your experiences better.
I may have partially answered your question.. there are mods.. however, none of them really force this behavior, unless... it's a wing based vehicle. In this particular video, there are no wing mods installed in this world. Just Build Info, some various lighting mods and a skybox, nothing performance or block orientated.
@@newfang6234 oh well my bad for asking such a dumb question. Thanks for the info
@@nyxborne1786 Not dumb at all.. it's all about the experience. Upward thrust is the most important element if you train yourself to fly these things correctly. Also.. there are no limits to what you can come up with, within reason.. but there is a method to flight, especially thrust based lift. Use weight and placement to your advantage.
man do you take students I want to build like that
Wish he did but his videos would be good enough
I feel there is a joke that can be made with a name like micro shuttle
