- We visited Boatwrights for dinner on our recent trip to Walt Disney World in May of 2024.
Boatwrights is a sit down restaurant located in the Port Orleans Riverside resort. It also participates in the Disney Dining plan, which we used one table service credit each on. Did we think it was worth it?

Their cornbread was really good! And the service was great, I just had a hard time getting over the heavy blackening on my prime rib 😳
Hi! ALMOST booked this for our trip next week. Thank goodness I didn’t!!! Unfortunately, so much Disney dining has become disappointing…We we’re not happy with the DDP in May. They skimmed so much out of it and raised the price.

Hi Jenn! We really wanted to like it because friends of ours did. The service was great but the blackening on my prime rib was insane and almost inedible. I think there are better choices. I agree, so much has changed with Disney dining, unfortunately not for the better in most cases.
We’ve had Boatwrights twice now. Once alone and once with the in-laws. I had the prime rib the first time and it was really good at that time. The second time I got the shrimp and grits which I really loved. The best part of both time was the bread pudding and ice cream though haha. I’m sorry it wasn’t that great for you guys. It is very pricey for what you get. 😊💕
I feel like we must have been there in an off night or something. We expected to really like it! But.. there was a table of 3 girls from Disney Food Blog behind us, maybe they were worried about them being there and they got all the good stuff haha! Who knows 😆
We did enjoy our desserts we took home! ❤️
That stinks it was not as good as you thought it might have been. We’ve eaten there twice and I would give it a 8. Both times we had boudin balls for an app and for an entree I had the all you care to enjoy. Both were good…. Nothing over the top but good. The bread pudding we got for dessert was the shining star for us. 👍🏻👍🏻
We expected to really love it after y’all’s experiences there. If it weren’t for the insanely peppered prime rib I probably would have liked it better lol!

Exactly right, they can’t all be winners. We had better hopes for Boatwrights but it was just ok the night we were there. We are happy to take the hits so you don’t have to! 🤣
Sorry you had a bad meal there. We went a few months back and had an excellent meal.
We really wanted to like it there, just couldn’t get past the heavy pepper on the prime rib. We could have just gone on an off night. So glad to hear you enjoyed your meal there!
