I have the same gun. When it was brand new it was firing both barrels. Had to send it back to Browning and they fixed it and had it back in maybe 3 weeks with a new trigger assembly. I also have a 725 field in 20 gauge with no problems with that one.

I have a 725 that has probably 50k through it if I had to guess. I got it second hand but the gentleman that had it shot it a lot but did very little maintenance. I fortunately have an excellent gun smith who shoots with me, so I have gotten into the habit of giving it to him for an annual service. That is the single best practice I have experienced. The gun is always flawless all season with normal cleaning and up keep. The Brownings will last as long as any with some regular service. No need to switch brands/guns if you like that one, just find a good gunsmith instead of relying on BROWNING. I have never experienced Browning customer service, but I have also heard of nightmares with it. Unfortunate since they do have a great product

Same with about same amount of shells - Never heard that squeak before - do you grease and oil?

I oil all the contact points before I shoot. I used grease when I first got it but In my opinion it collected a lot of dirt so I swapped to oil.
