You can do a slash proc heavy with slide attack like Corufell. Not practical, but exists. Also Syam reflects projectiles without use of Reflection mod.
Aznvasions showed it off, but if you want to do a heavy attack build, Gas is actually really damn strong on this weapon when using a grouping ability thanks to the huge base fire damage of the wave.
A hybrid build will probably works quite well on it
I leveled it in SP Mot with a light attack build but started occasionally using the heavy attack heat wave half way through it and it feels good even without the heavy attack mods
just use it like vergil and do some judgment cut combos

I have learned that I find blind justice as the most combat efficient, the dashing slide attack pairs well with the syams heavy attack. Easy to close distance then follow up
All these new melee weapons have been awesome , been have much fun using them on voruna
well you can do a slide heavy for normal heavy
also the wave is pure heat with forced proc impact and it seems to travel forever tho with ivara and yes she can navigate it it only goes to 230 meters

Edun is amazing on drifter, makes the slow combat so much less painful

In my opinion they should renovert the timers from the galvanized mods, and either add a Worse variation of naramons combo decay, or just remove the entire timer, since these timers only disuade me…
It's a very cool katana! It's fun and good enough to use on SP. That's a huge "approved" in my book.

Why is no one explaining just how to get the blueprint
While I like the vids you doo and they give some insight on how the weapons work, I always find myself going with a different build for melee weapons nowadays. Ever since the melee rework which nerfed the combo to the ground as well as DE adding the follow through stat to the game, I quit playing real melee builds. So most of the time I run around with a gunblade or statstick. Occasionally I take out a "normal" melee to fill in a job my frame or weapons cant deal with, which is only about 100% of the time to do ludicrous amounts of damage, quickly, only when absolutely needed.. which is why my builds never rely on combo count one bit. So my cookie cutter melee build is almost always like this: sacrificial steel, primed pressure point, primed fury, organ shatter, 3 60/60 for viral and heat, and carnis mandible. It gets the full damage out of it without any ramp up time, but in the end it has lower damage ceiling too. Doesnt usually matter cos on a good melee weapon even sp eximus units die quite fast, and there is always possibility to equip a riven and a smite mod to get even more damage if needed.. still I like to build my melees self reliant so they worj and feel good to use without any arcanes or frame buffs or anything else external

problem with the syam: the wave doesnt count as a heavy attack, so killing blow does NOTHING to it. also, it only scales from elemental damage, not physical or total damage. for some reason.
edit: as someone pointed out in the replies, this seems to have been fixed. was still annoying at release though lmao

the waves trigger dispatch overdrive and CO works on them
Life Strike works on it now, so it's probably fixed

Its pretty cool but the MIGHTY SEER is the best melee
