Essentially the ballerina represents the band, as they are lost, because they've lost their inspiration, (aka Damiano having writer's block), and then Marlena, the other dancer comes in, and helps the ballerina get back to her feet, but if Marlena, if their muse, disappears, they fear they too will disappear with her.

Singing the chorus to this song is the first time my husband turned to me and said my pronunciation was perfect. It really encouraged me to continue singing with Damiano as part of my daily Italian practice.
This song and video are truly one of the most beautiful Italian masterpiece works of art. As others have said Marlena is their muse and they mention her in 4 songs, and they all have great beautiful videos. This is the last in the story in my mind of Marlena. The first one is L'altra Dimensione where they meet Marlena and she shows them Il Ballo della Vita (that Damiano has tattooed across his chest) The Dance of Life. The second one Morirò da Re with Marlena beside them they Will Die as a King. Le Parole Lontane "The Distant Words" , Marlena is starting to feel distant (and Damiano is starting to feel the pressure of losing inspiration) and then this song begging Marlena to come back or they are afraid they will disappear.
One of their most beautiful songs, love this ❤ And Damiano’s voice is so passionate, sensitive and vulnerable. He could indeed chanting the Italian dictionary to me and I would be still mesmarized 🥰

Damiano's favorite song. The video was shot at Villa Arconati in Milan, called the little Versailles. The song mostly talks about the fear of losing the inspiration that for him has a name Marlena (this name recurs in many of their songs) and so he asks "her" torna a casa (come back home) "coz I'm afraid of disappearing"
My favourite song from maneskin. I was not the greatest fan from their eurovision victory, but after watching and hearing this song I started to love them!
