@@maverickjohnson1399 That happens. Sometimes an artist heads in a new direction, and fans either follow along, or not. Many artists do this. For instance, after the first few U2 records I lost interest, but they became super popular, reaching more people. Hope that cheers you a bit :^)

I've always wondered why she chooses to sing in a high pitched fairy voice. Don't get me wrong, I am enchanted by her voice, but I'm curious if she does the voice as just a character or if she really thinks she sounds the best like that. Idk and then I wonder if singing in that high voice hurts her vocal cords

fun fact: Grimes said about this amazing song that: the whole point of Vanessa was to write a pop song, and for that reason she considers it "empty" and says she hates the song
she says that as if some of her later work wasn't made with the intention of being pop songs lol while songs like vanessa and crystal ball have a "lesser quality" in terms of production and lyricism, i actually prefer this sound a lot more than some of her later work. it's sad she doesn't see more beauty in this.
like player of games is technically an all around good song with beautiful vocals, lyricism, and visuals. but it lacks the unique, ethereal, forest faery vibe that makes you want to dance and jump around loving life lol it just sounds like a fleeting edm product that I won't really be streaming past the first listen

The way Grimes has evolved is beautiful. Right here you see her with a group of females and she is carrying the lead, but now into Violence she is also with a group of females and she is also carrying the lead but in a very prestigious manner like she has complete control over the element she is in. I really like how she has matured :)
