@@johnnyringo2670 I understand where you're coming from however bullets usually leave a pretty large exit wound but not everyone who has been shot has large holes on the other side of their body. A lion could easily tear someone's arm off if it gets a good enough grip but we shouldn't assume that he's lying just because his scars are a few inches long. Especially if you watch the other video they're talking about how they team up on lions and beat them and stab them I'm sure the lion got a couple good scratches in there but a bunch of men were stabbing and killing it I'm sure somebody was going to get scratched. I'm sure these people also have pretty good reflexes having trained to kill these type of animals their whole life. Just adding that for consideration my friend! 👍
I lived in Tanzania for two years and it was one of the most life changing times of my life.. The poorest people i've ever met but the happiest and when I got home to the US I was forever changed.
Yup you see that our lives are not contingent on the amount of money you have or the color of your skin. But it’s about culture and family. But the world doesn’t like that and continually tries to destroy that place.

@@joshdagostine9556 Just got back from 3 weeks. I was able to buy the chiefs son's spear different than the ones in the video. Short piece of tapered wood grip. Long metal spike on one end, long blade on the other end. The metal that compresses over the tapered wood have matching marks on both spike end and blade end. The wood grip is infused with the smoke of 10k fires. I hope that smell never leaves. They must have different spear types? And he sold me his long bladed knife exactly the color and size of the one in the video john had on. Visited the school, the kids are beautiful shining souls and the people very nice and gracious.
The thing that stuck with me was when John said this is the only tribe that has never been slaves by other tribes. Because of their weapons and their knowledge to use them. True warrior poets.
I remember after 911 the Massai Tribe donated some of their cattle to America. They were accepted with humility and thanks. Not that they need it, but I have the highest respect for them.

I was with the Maasai warriors a few years back and became good friends with a few of them. When I left they gave me one of their lion spears. Still have it and love the memories.

Awesome video, John. So enjoyed seeing the Maasai warriors. I spent a week in Kaijado with some other preachers, teaching a pastor's school back in 2012. I bought one of those spears in Nairobi. I have it in my office. This brought back some great memories.
I grew up with the maasai while my father was planting churches with them. Haven't been back in about 10 years. Thank you for sharing your experience, it made my day to watch it!
We were making our way out in the bush to build a church on a missions trip and the Maasai stayed with us and guarded our camp while we were there. This brings back memories and is accurate to their attitude and friendliness. It did throw me off when one of them had a flashlight, though. Of many souvenirs over 6 trips to east Africa, my most prized are the seme and rungu they gave me.
I met some of these guys in northern Ghana about 25 years ago. They were tall and had a really stoic Countenance. They were loading cows onto a ferry And when the cows balked they would bite them on the tail to get them moving!
As a bladesmith/weaponsmaker, I liked the premise of this short video. I would LOVE the chance to meet these men and ask questions/possibly forge some tools with them. When your livelihood and survival is based on what you can create for yourself, you need to posess the top tier skills in not only fighting technique but weapons creation. Their survival has proved they posess exactly this. I'd be intrigued to meet their blacksmith(s).

I’m now 23 I found out I had several health problems at 17. After years of rehabilitation and getting cleared medically I’m ready to start getting mentally and physically prepared. I know you have talked in previous videos about cold showers, lack of sleep and grueling workout routines. Is there any way you could take the time when you get back from this trip to lay out everything you did to prepare? I will be the top of my Class in Rasp. I just need the points to prep. Thanks dude.
