    Yes (x^3+x^2+3x+115) is a multiple of (x+5) because
    According to remainder theorem,
    If we divide (x^3+x^2+3x+115) by (x+5) ,
    The remainder will be zero

    For those who don not understand why we should equate x-2 to zero. Here is the explanation
    Recall that- Dividend = Divisor x Quotient + remainder.
    In this case x-2 is the divisor. Note that our goal is to find the remainder without actual division (remainder theorem)
    So, if we equate x-2 as zero, and we multiply it with the quotient, the product will be zero ( any number multiplied by 0 is 0) and if we add that value, which without doubt has to be 0 with the remainder, we get the remainder.
    Hope this helps

    x^3+x^2+3x+115 is a multiple of (x+5).
    Reason:
    Remainder theorem,
    (x+5)=0
    x=-5
    Therefore,(-5)^3+(-5)^2+3×(-5)+115
    =(-125)+25-15+115
    =140-140
    =0
