The Dollar store has those thin sun shields, and measuring tape there also so you don’t have to cut up a nice home center brand tape. Craft store has pkg of (4) 12” dowels...fun!
James, I don’t know enough about the plein air conditions to understand why you would put a diffuser over your work to prevent direct sunlight on it, and at the same time add a reflector to provide more bright light on your work. Thank you for any clarification!
Direct light can actually make it quite hard to see your painting because of reflections and cast shadows from your hands or body. The diffuser makes it so the light is more like bright shade. The reflector is probably mostly for video purposes, but it would also lighten up the sketchbook with out casting shadows.
