Jazz Masterclass: George Coleman, saxophone

QC Jazz Studies presents legendary Jazz Saxophonist and Composer, George Coleman.
Coleman is a 2015 NEA Jazz Master who has performed with Miles Davis, B.B. King, Max Roach, Slide Hampton, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Betty Carter, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Chet Baker, Ahmad Jamal, Lionel Hampton, and Charles Mingus. He is also a consummate educator having held teaching positions at Mannes College, The New School, Long Island University, and New York University.

Over 40 years ago I was mesmerized, intrigued, and stubbornly dedicated to the teachings of Big George, and here he is……same man…….with the spirit and generosity, same intent and dedication as back then!

11s are some of the best musicians. I'm also an 11 but he's got me beat by far. Of course, I don't play saxophone but I'd love to learn.
