Please could you ask Bruce if he remembers meeting The Ventures in Japan during The Shadows tour there in 1967, and if he has any memories of that event.
@@cliverkay They did meet each other when both The Shadows and The Ventures were on tour in Japan in 1967 in a hotel. It is described in Del Halterman's biography of The Ventures. Don Wilson mentions meeting them at the Lipo bar at the Hilton in Tokyo, and they drank to being the highest paid rhythm guitar players in the world.
I had a 1964 AC4 and it was just amazing, it sadly got water damaged in storage during a house move. I had a 1995 AC15 and that was very good, I had a 1990 AC30 reissue but it was just so heavy!
Try an AD60 or AD120 Valvetronix, looks like an AC15 and AC30 but with programmable sounds, I use the Valvetronix SE foot board variant and it gives you the Shads sound.
The Shadows were the link between 50's Rock and Roll and the fabulous Sixties. Complete unknown guitar sound and great music.
This is a gem .. I love thes vids , thanks
So pleased you enjoy them! There's more on the way tomorrow!

I had lunch with Don Wilson of the Ventures in 1999 and he asked me if I could set up a meeting with Hank , so I don't think they ever met before.

That's so unfortunate about the AC4, but yes I can imagine how much of a job moving that AC30 would be!
Nice interesting
Shadows were a milestone band and I love the Vox AC30 had to sell mine because I was a poverty stricken musician
