This album was such a pleasant surprise. Loved logic back in high-school with under pressure and TITS and then each release from 2016-2019 got more and more disappointing to the point where i just tuned out all of his releases since then. This album though is def a top 5 2024 release to me. Maybe top 3 but hard to say bc 2024 has seen so many great music drops so far.
Gardens III has one of my favorite beats of the year and that’s saying a lot. Also Teleport has got to be one of logics best songs but so does One Upon A Time in Hollywood but I also love LOVE ME so much for the emotional climax of it, honestly logics 2nd best album imo only beaten out by how insanely consistent NP is as a whole project/cohesive album experience. The highs on U85 are higher but the lows are slightly lower too. Basically for example, A2Z > 44ever but Teleport > Heard Em Say (extremely slightly). But it’s crazy that the sequels are actually better for both albums. Ridiculous actually.
If you think he ever had to redeem himself your fucking weird. He made music i listened to for now a decade and every album has fit perfectly into its own style. From Everybody to Supermarket, every song is a banger if you like music enough. Its nothing about "glazing" either (even though its sad how you cant even show appreciation these days).

I was a logic fan and defender but logics subject matter is so repetitive now days it’s annoying. Especially considering the beat selection is excellent

Nah I gave that one a 7.5 / 10 - also 2 v different projects haha . I think BPIII has more legendary / influential status but I’ll probably revisit U85 a bit more since I personally prefer it more 🫂🫂
