  • Should you use a Collet Wrench or a Torque Wrench to tighten down ER32 tool holders?
Torque a tool holder to proper spec will increase tool rigidity, and reduce the chances of the tool slipping in the collet holder. You can get a feel for it using a Collet Wrench, but you won't actually know how close you are getting without a Torque Wrench.
Typically, using a Torque Wrench is cost-prohibitive because these custom solutions cost $600 or more for the initial setup and still have to pay $100 for each additional adaptor head for each of the ER sizes.
But now you can use your existing torque wrench and just buy the adaptor heads you need! Made from 316 Stainless Steel, right here in the USA.

Hi there! When you use your phones camera you can tap on the QR code which brings up the App which uses those calculations. The App lets you save your torque wrench and presents you table of initial values and offset values. You can see an example of it at 35 seconds into the video. So all you have to do is enter the length of your torque wrench once and thats it. If you need to torque to a new value you add it to the table and thats it.
