I'm actually really excited to see that Insomniac is making their own universe for this game and it isn't tying in with any comic book or movie. That means they have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to what they can do in terms of the story, and Insomniac has some great stories.
@@KrillGorilla i'm truly loving what i'm seeing... but i need to see more, if insomniac are true with their words that we have not seen anything yet for their gameplay. Especially for combat... So far they mastered L1 into being the parry and Super move mechanic, while R1 is mainly used for the combat's web shooters and gadgets (and having a gadget shortcut mechanic). They seem to be customizable as well. But i want to see what R2 and L2 can do within the combat system. I'm still holding out hope for insomniac to create a mechanic that's a hybrid between that Web of shadows Web-Strike and the Air Tricks from miles morales. They can achieve this...

Now if I were to pick a game that felt wayy more special for their times in terms of graphics, it'd have to be Sonic Unleashed from 2008 for how the 360 and ps3 couldn't handle that game's performance with a solid stable framerate to where it took until the xbox one for it to run smoothly
Yeah the graphics in this game aren't impressive, even if u play on a 4k TV with a PS4 pro. The game will run at 1800p and NOT 2160p(4K). And the fact it's hard locked to 30fps is wild fr when we had games like Horizon Zero Dawn that could run native 4k with 30fps or 1080p with 60fps

I feel like an early concept for the game was to have this be the actual reveal of Mister Negative and then he corrupts Spider-man in the Helicopter (resulting in the Negative Suit). Peter has to fight his way out of his own mind to regain control, etc. Then the Negative Suit would have had some narrative significance

Insomniac did a great job on emphasizing just how different of a fighter Spider-Man is from Batman in this game.

The arkham games had pretty decent fight mechanics to keep the game interesting while still have a stealth segment to them so fighting wouldnt get repetitive and boring. I can easily see a spider-man game using a similar system.
So can Batman stop a crane from falling onto people bellow while doing acrobatics, swing from building to building detach his grappling hook along the wall run on a building than start swinging again, Dodge bullets at point blank while doing some crazy acrobatics and making the shooters blind, while parkouring through a burning building and dodging missiles at the same time?
BaguetteOfDoom Arkham is the reason this formula works so well, but I honestly feel it fits the style of a Spider-man game equally as well as Batman, if not better. Plus, Spider-man is much more flashy with his combat so it allows for a lot of creativity with the fighting system.
You miss understood. Arkam copied Spiderman, BUT they (the creators of Arkam) added better combat. Now, with this new and very much improved Spiderman, they took the same likeable features Spiderman 2 brought to us for the PS2 and have now integrated, the same style of arkam combat.
3:40 They gave Peter's punch animation in combat to Miles. I think it's cooler to mix punches and kicks as opposed to Peter just doing all kicks but that's just me. Miles' combo looks cooler with the punches IMO
PS NOW LOL 480p + delay + on pc and only indies and 5 year old games will come to that. That's like 1% of the enjoyment that a long time Playstation fan will get out of it.

I keep watching this. The voice acting, the gameplay, the graphics, the combat, the movement. So superb. They said it would feature an experienced Spider-Man. The way he stopped that structure was amazing.
Insomniac should make an X-Men game. With all the same people who worked on this game and more. If they could get Steve Blum to do the voice of Wolverine that would be the best! And before you say: "They can't, all X-Men and Wolverine properties belong to FOX" Well Disney has recently bought Fox, and Disney owns MARVEL aswell so If they wanted to Insomniac COULD actually make a new X-Men game.
Your logic doesn't hold. Insomniac was hired by SONY to do this game, not Marvel or Disney. Spider-Man and all the characters within the Spider-Verse, as of now, officially belong to Sony. And that is exactly why this game is exclusive to SONY's PlayStation 4. Now if Disney hires Insomniac to make games, they can be made based on characters that as of now belong to Marvel. X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool are, as of now, still not officially under Disney and Marvel, because the merger is still under way. When the merger gets finished, the rights will be fully in Disney's hands, and only at that point can any such development even begin.
Yeah, they even made Spider-man make a reference to Wolverine in the "quips" suit power with him saying "I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do is quip"
What's the deal with people hating on QTE? It's like hitting jackpot and a free gift or somthing and people complain like they dont want the free gift. At least QTE is implemented in cutscenes so you dont just sit through it doing nothing.
The animations, graphics looks more detailed and cinematic than the final version. Suit looks better. Camera is also much closer. The HUD here is better, no annoying pop up saying focus bar full or suit power ready.
That is basically 'The Amazing Spider-Man' with better graphics and smoother gameplay. The story, however, seems interesting, it won me over when Miles Morales appeared.

Watching in slow motion at 6:11 makes me pretty confidant that the webs are attaching to the buildings as he's swinging. Which is the most important thing for Insomniac to get right in my opinion.

Insomniac should make an X-Men game. With all the same people who worked on this game and more. If they could get Steve Blum to do the voice of Wolverine that would be the best! And before you say: "They can't, all X-Men and Wolverine properties belong to FOX" Well Disney has recently bought Fox, and Disney owns MARVEL aswell so If they wanted to Insomniac COULD actually make a new X-Men game.
Your logic doesn't hold. Insomniac was hired by SONY to do this game, not Marvel or Disney. Spider-Man and all the characters within the Spider-Verse, as of now, officially belong to Sony. And that is exactly why this game is exclusive to SONY's PlayStation 4.
Now if Disney hires Insomniac to make games, they can be made based on characters that as of now belong to Marvel. X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool are, as of now, still not officially under Disney and Marvel, because the merger is still under way. When the merger gets finished, the rights will be fully in Disney's hands, and only at that point can any such development even begin.
Yeah, they even made Spider-man make a reference to Wolverine in the "quips" suit power with him saying "I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do is quip"

What's the deal with people hating on QTE? It's like hitting jackpot and a free gift or somthing and people complain like they dont want the free gift. At least QTE is implemented in cutscenes so you dont just sit through it doing nothing.

The animations, graphics looks more detailed and cinematic than the final version. Suit looks better. Camera is also much closer. The HUD here is better, no annoying pop up saying focus bar full or suit power ready.
That is basically 'The Amazing Spider-Man' with better graphics and smoother gameplay. The story, however, seems interesting, it won me over when Miles Morales appeared.
The amazing spiderman admittedly has some goo ideas going for it but it just wasn't executed well...this game looks like they execute some of the ideas a lot better.
No, it's not "The Amazing Spider-Man" with better graphics and smoother gameplay. This Is not a movie tie or is it related to the comics, besides this game has spiderman doing things we've never seen before. Using the environment to his advantage, taking out criminals within seconds and saving people and preventing a lot of damage to the city (Well as much as he can) with the best of his abilities.

Watching in slow motion at 6:11 makes me pretty confidant that the webs are attaching to the buildings as he's swinging. Which is the most important thing for Insomniac to get right in my opinion.
