«예측 (불)가능한 세계» 참여작가 및 작품 소개 - 슬릿스코프

슬릿스코프의 〈시간詩間여행 2.0〉(2024)은 인공지능 ‘시아(SIA)’와 참여자가 함께 시를 쓰는 경험을 여행으로 은유한 작품입니다. 슬릿스코프는 만 오천여 편의 한국 근현대 시 데이터를 수집하고, 초거대 언어 모델 챗GPT를 미세 조정하여 인공지능 시아를 개발했습니다. 이번 전시에 소개된 〈시간여행 2.0〉은 청주시의 지역적 특징을 반영한 ‘시적 언어 공간’을 배경으로 삼습니다. 여기서 시적 언어 공간이란 텍스트 임베딩으로 구축한 공간으로서 다양한 시적 표현과 단어들이 위치를 갖고 관계를 맺는 공간입니다. 슬릿스코프는 시적 언어 공간 위에 청주 지역의 지도를 겹쳐, 물리적 구획의 공간을 넘어 가상과 현실, 인공지능과 인간을 매개하는 공간, 즉 하나의 우주를 형성합니다. 이처럼 슬릿스코프는 인공지능과의 교감을 바탕으로 하는 ‘시작(詩作)’을 통해 기술과 인간의 공진화 관계를 꿈꿉니다.
Slitscope’s Poem Travel 2.0 offers an opportunity to write a poem with an artificial intelligence named SIA, which is presented in a metaphor of travel. Slitscope collected data from more than 15,000 modern and contemporary Korean poems and fine-tuned ChatGPT, a large language model, to develop SIA. The work is set in a ‘poetic language space’ that reflects the local characteristics of Cheongju. Poetic language space means a space built by text embedding, a space where various poetic expressions and words relate to each other from different positions. Slitscope superimposes a map of the Cheongju region on the poetic language space, creating a universe that transcends the space of physical compartments and mediates between virtual and real, AI and human. Slitscope dreams of a co-evolutionary relationship between technology and humans through ‘poetry’ based on communication with AI
