Corey LaJoie Is Stacking Problems

- Corey LaJoie has spent the majority of his NASCAR Cup Series career as one of the premiere underdogs in the garage area. For most of this time LaJoie has been endearing to the fanbase as the want to see an underdog win. Yet in 2024 LaJoie has underperformed based on what he did the last two years and has been a piece of a couple of controversies. With Spire on the ascension and driver turnover being as high as ever Corey LaJoie is stacking problems.

Do you think Corey LaJoie can turn things around?
Spire as a whole should
Spire has outdeveloped Corey LaJoie instead.
He's been turning things around all year. That's the problem!
As a Kyle Busch fan since 2009, who isn’t saying that he’s having a terrible season, because everyone knows he is, I’m not trying to complain and unfortunately kinda expect something every week to happen. It’s sad, and I know others favorite drivers have struggled a lot more for a lot longer, and I feel bad for those. I Hope Kyle can at least, win 1 race, even if it’s for rain stopping a race, before the end of 2024 (not likely but I can hope) and I didn’t hate Corey Lajoie but, I lost a lot of mutual respect I had for him as a driver on Sunday. And I don’t see him doing better next season, even with Rodney Childers. Also, Hall of famer in the future?? Childers, not Lajoie. Lol
He already has turned things around, turning cars around
That Chili’s sponsorship made him feel like he’s a cup veteran in his head
He's been here long enough he should feel like a cup veteran, but he doesn't race like one

He's never won a Cup, Xfinity or Truck race. Should not be in the Cup series, plain and simple. I still can't believe Burton and Letarte flat out refused to state that Lajoie wrecked Busch on purpose, it was very clear.
Yeah Burton just did damage control.
As bad as fox is at least harvick and bowyer call out this kind of bullshit
He’s clearly underperformed for years and the only reason people haven’t talked about this more is because Zane Smith has been so bad this year.
And because he never had a teammate to show what his equipment is capable of. He’s not a horrible driver, but he’s pretty bad and one of the least talented in the Cup series
Zane almost won a race 😂
@@shawnmicheal8 Yes, for every rule, there’s an exception but your ignoring the five overtimes, the fact that most of the guys upfront ran out of fuel or wrecked, the fact that Tyler Reddick was behind Logano and Smith and could’ve catched Logano if he had one more lap, and that even Haille Deegan could’ve won in Penske equipment with the same great team, the same great track position and the same great restart that Logano got. Zane has still been garbage this year.
Hocevar has been the only bright spot at Spire. I feel like Mcdowell can't come in soon enough to be that veteran leader
Hocevar in his rookie season has outran the flagship driver and car over there. He’s literally carrying that team.
On the bright side, after indy, he has a guaranteed 2 week break from crashing people
Always look at the bright side of life!
Corey LaJoie hasn't been "stacking pennies" as we thought," he's been stacking cautions and excuses instead. 2025 is make or break for Corey, especially with Rodney Childers as his new CC, IMO I think LaJoie should be racing in Truck Series instead.
He wouldnt be half as good as enfinger or crafton. More like ty dillon lol
Kyle Busch jumped in the 7 truck and did what Lajoie could never do
@@superman17cI think Lajoie could probably crash on lap 2 at Darlington
Are they actually gonna waste one of the only years they will have Childers on Corey? I like Corey and love KB... thats a yikes.
should be stacking patties at burger king
Corey Lajoie is a 32 year-old driver who's been in midfield to low tier equipment for 7 years. He's should know better racing with respect vs. having the biggest ego
One thing I think is worth mentioning on Lajoie's perception was his one start at Gateway in the 9 car. That was his big opportunity to show what he was capable of, and he was nowhere to be found. That's only one thing though, even HMS has their off days like everyone else. But when Hocevar hopped into his car and showed better pace IN HIS CUP DEBUT? That was the sign that the Spire cars had more to offer than was Lajoie was giving. Plus him running into people more often than not hasn't helped either when he hasn't proven himself to get away with it.
TLDR: He got exposed
lajoie’s gonna be stacking burgers to pay off that stacking debt from the stacking team owners fines all bc he was stacking wrecks
Remember when everyone thought Hocevar was going to be the one holding the team back?
Dude you got it the other way around. The team is holding Hocevar back
I don’t think anyone thought that. It’s obvious Hocevar has big talent. He’s just loses his head too frequently.

NASCAR Busts: Corey Lajoie
A bit harsh but not totally wrong
For real. The guy really underperformed when Mr. H gave him a chance last year in the 9 car after Chase got suspended for wrecking Denny at Charlotte. Corey just lacks the talent needed to be a Cup star.
Id give it one more season when he gets rodney childress as his crew chief ...
His paint scheme with his hair wasn’t a bust though.
In other news he's not returning to the #7 next year
LaJoie wants to be a internet star more than a driver. Is it even a lock that Rodney Childers will crew chief his car next year? How about Rodney Childers crew chief for Michael McDowell!
Jimmie Johnson has not become loveable like Kyle Busch not even a little bit. The feeling for Jimmie is “you should have never came back you should have stayed retired you’re just making a fool of yourself”
Yep, that's the exact sentiment, he done tarnished his legacy in IndyCar...he should have quit racing forever that day in November 2020.

How hard is it to say "yyyyeeeahhh that was a dumb move on my part"
I *want* to support him, but Corey using KB as a bowling ball is just disgraceful, especially considering the safety reputation (or lack thereof) in this current car.
I'm honestly surprised NASCAR has not given him a fine for reckless driving - and I do *_not_* usually support that sort of penalty.
Instead they fined Bubba Wallace
Good stuff and fair analysis. I feel like a lot of the fan blowback is due to being told for years by other fans that he's a good driver held back by his equipment (demonstrably false). All talk from him and his fans.
I saw right thru this when he subbed for Chase Elliott at WWTR last year and averaged 27th running and finished 21st in Hendrick Equipment lol
I can’t believe Rodney Childers is going over there!
$$$$
I remember in 2017 Lajoie almost took out Clint Bowyer at Daytona and then he had a lot of run ins that ticked everyone off. I think at one point Blaney tried wrecking him at Texas that same year
I was a Busch fan before it was cool
If Corey actually had a job to stack pennies and the pennies fell, he’ll say it’s the pennies fault although he’s stacking them lol
I am a Kyle Busch fan but what the commentary said after pissed me off
Rumor has it Jeff Dickerson watched this video and then fired Corey😂
I pretty much knew that Corey is not a very good driver when he was getting outran by his replacement at Gateway last year when Corey was in the 9 replacing Chase Elliott, who was suspended for right rear hooking Hamlin at the Coke 600
Do you think if someone else was given that opportunity, do you think they would have finished top 10 while having one week with that team?
He finished exactly where Chase did the year prior…
His 7 car beat him driving the 9. 😂😂
@@Shiner0438no the 7 Dnf’d to be clear Cory placed 21st in the 9 car

I’ve said LaJoie sucked for several years now and everyone called me a hater. Boy, the tides sure have turned lol
Yep Lajoie has always been overhyped way too much.
I honestly have never cared for LaJoke. I mean, he's a friggin' hack. He seems to be a nice guy off the track but on the track? A complete doofus.
Corey LaJoie could have been something in 2022 if it weren't for that Atlanta Race. He had a chance at 2nd place (possibly a win), but he got greedy on the last lap.
Lajoie is a great personality, but he should not be a Cup Series driver.
P.S. Jimmie is not a lovable underdog. People hate him way more than you think.
As an Erik Jones fan, I despise Jimmy Johnson for running the team into the ground. Ffs, Jones went from running up front and even winning a race for Petty in 2022 to barely finishing top 20 on a good day. I really hope Jones gets away from that mess and goes to Spire. He's too damn good a driver to waste on bad teams.
People hate Jimmie because he turned his back on the big bow tie and that he's running Petty GMS (I mean, Legacy Motor Club🙄) to the ground.
safe to say he didnt inherit Randy's talent
Yes he does. Randy Lajoie wasn't good in Winston Cup either
@@randyrudynski7026 no but he’s an xfinity series champion 🤡
My issue with his comments is when he starts blatantly lying by saying Busch blocked him a second time when it's clear as day on video that he moved up and cleared Busch out himself into the fastest corner at Pocono into a crowd of cars(Probably to get back at Busch throwing the first block)
Corey LaJoie is not a Cup level talent. he's had a few decent runs, but he's very inconsistent and keeps getting in his own way. plus, he's the only full-time driver in the field to have never won a Cup, Xfinity or Truck race, and hasn't done that much winning in lower series either, especially over the last 10 years. i don't see what Spire sees in him other than a veteran presence, and they just hired a much better one in Michael McDowell, who actually knows how to win races and can run up front. i don't see him keeping his Cup ride for much time beyond 2025 without a win at this point
As a Jimmie fan that move at Kansas already made Lajoie public enemy number one for me
Reminds me a bit of the Ernie Irvan issues in the early 90's where he was a bit reckless and caused a few accidents trying to overdrive and overcompensate for having bad equipment. The biggest thing Ernie had to do was apologize and own up to his actions. It might be time for Corey LaJoie to do the same, own up to it and try to do better next time. This is getting ridiculous.
It's crazy to think that Carson Hocevar is better than Corey LaJoie this year. Although, I could see Sam Mayer take the #7 car (providing he does one more year in the Xfinity Series in 2025).
He isn't there if Daddy didn't make everyone's seats.
Money talks in Nascar more than ever now. As long as he brings the $$ he's gonna have a ride. Personally I feel Zane deserves that ride more than Corey does.
1:44 they need to allow the reporters to press them a bit. Like when lollipop here says “when he blocked the second time” the reporter responds with “well he didn’t block a second time, looks like you just turned him” and see what he says on the spot
No, He can't, He's done in the Cup
If he doesn't show improvement next season with rodney he definitely getting the boot. It seems like spire has outgrown corey.
Yep an if anything Rodney should be with McDowell not Corey.
If rodney got reutmann and vickers to win races and lajoie doesnt yk hes getting the boot
@Cuhh346 Hes definitely on the hot seat and even if he does improve if carson and McDowell still do better I still think he will get the boot. The fact he has no wins in the top 3 series is just wild. Definitely more deserving drivers than corey.
Kyle Busch has more championships than he does top 5s . 😂
Next season will be his last with spire even with Childers as his crew chief and I predict that Kyle Busch will drive the 7 car for 2026..
LaJoie is the only full time cup driver without a national series win
He would’ve won a cup race at Atlanta in 2022 and only lost because Elliott shoved him into the wall.
Only because JJ Yeley is part time this year

“Stacking patties”
Why is Spire Motorsports thinking that Corey Lajoie is there number 1 driver on the team it's thinking like that why you deserve to run mid pack.
The more I think about it, he is the San Diego Padres of NASCAR.
This dude would be working at his local Walmart if it wasn’t for his dad.
I think he's the worst driver in Cup who has a ride next year. I don't think Rodney can save him. There's too much young talent out there for this dude to have a ride in 2026 unless he wins a race next year.
Resurrect his career? What career? Dude hasn’t ever won in the top 3 series.
In order to be done, one must have started. Corey is still stalling in the starting blocks, failing upward funnily enough.
Hocevar and Zane are way better ...carson will be the next big thing i think ??
Like every year Corey Lajoie wants to win races, the opposite is the excuses he says.
Now with the arrival of rookies Carson Hocevar and Zane Smith to Spire this year both have finished inside the top 10 on non-superspeedway tracks than Lajoie:
Hocevar: Gateway 8th and Texas 10th place.
Smith: Nashville 2nd place.
With the arrival of Michael McDowell as driver and Travis Peterson as crew chief (unofficial news) in 2025 and also Rodney Childers in the 7 car as new Lajoie's crew chief. If he does not improve next year he continues with poor results and finishes 30th in points again, they and Corey will most likely be part ways from Spire and find a new driver for the 7 car.
I'm thinking Spire will give him one last chance before he is gone.
you were exactly right. they gave him one last race after this video before they announced that they were releasing him

Yeah, I can feel your anger from your comment alone. Him blaming his own stupidity on Busch with a straight face is the most asinine thing I have ever seen from LaJoke. He could've just said to the cameras and the reporters "yeah, that was my bad. I take full responsibilty for that" or something like that but no, he had the audicity to play coy and say that Busch blocked twice when we all damn well know that he didn't. Man, what happened to Corey LaJoie when he wasn’t wrecking others and causing other stupid problems?
Sad to see…. It’s so bad, I expected this video to come out

Busch and Childers together would make one helluva driver/crew chief duo.
Lajoie should be sent down to the Truck series and stay there
He'd be lucky to be good there, he's an ARCA talent at best.

2025 will be a put up or shut up year for LaJoie with Childers as his crew chief. He will have NO excuses for bad performance!
Next year is a make-or-break year for LaJoie. If he can't get it done with Rodney Childers as his crew chief, then Spire needs to get a different driver to place in the #7.
KYLE BUSCH was so white hot he showed no anger after he did his care center release interview.
Corey has one coming maybe two for sure.
Kyle is a veteran and knows what not to say before he pays it back to avoid suspension, lost points, and fines.
LoL Corey wouldn't want to be you before he launches you at a bad place.
After all these years of stacking pennies, and he doesn’t have any sense.
Why wreck 5 other cars just to finish 19th? It seems like you’d be money ahead to have 5 drivers that want to work with you.
I’m unsure how true this is but isn’t he the only driver in the cup field without a win in any of the top 3 NASCAR series too?
Yes
with Childers coming in it will prove if he really has the capability of being at least a Top 25 or fringe Top 15 driver

I will say he was partly right in his interview. If he doesn't dive to the bottom, someone else will. However, you can't just hook someone in the corner like that. Take the L and back out.
Busch needs to leave RCR. By 2026, the other Rick Ware car might be a better ride than an RCR car.
Not a fan. He overdrives and ends up in some chitt or wrecks someone. He gets on a podcast or video and acts like he is all that. Briscoe drives much the same, except he keeps quiet about it.
Stacking poor finishes this season best finish of 11th this year and that was the daytona 500 💀
Since this video Carson Hovar just almost won the poll at Darlington. Lajoy flipped his race car at Michigan and lost his ride. Leo has never come close to a second place like Zane smith . Time to go to the Xfinity series and win a couple races. Which he never did. He went basically right from Arca to the cup sseriea which is crazy
I’ve been saying he’s a fraud since day one.

I haven't been a fan of corey since he intentionally took out the one car he was racing against to make the Daytona 500 several years ago. This is just what he is.
