This is exciting! I'm from Ireland and have never even been to the Cliffs of Moher! I lived in Dublin city for years and I one tip I can give you is to not go drinking in any of the pubs in Temple Bar. It is a massive tourist trap where they charge you waaay too much for a drink (almost double the price!). No Irish person ever drinks there, only the tourists! There is a lovely bar on the outskirts of Temple Bar called The Porterhouse. We used to go drinking there a lot. They do their own homemade brew of stouts and it has that typical 'Irish bar' feel to it. If you get a chance to go to The Hard Rock Cafe it is also in Temple Bar and they do the best burgers in my opinion. Staff are super nice and the atmosphere is always great there. The Long Hall is also a well known pub. Bruce Springsteen is always spotted there whenever he is in Dublin for his concerts. Not far from The Long Hall there is a pub called The Hairy Lemon. I'd also recommend there for drinks and your typical pub grub. Just a warning in Dublin city: there are LOTS of pickpocketing incidents, especially targeted at tourists so if you are carrying expensive phones or cameras around just be mindful of it and be aware of your surroundings. Also, I wouldn't actually recommend kissing the Blarney Stone when you are there which is normally the tradition. Thousands of people do it each year and you don't want to get sick from it as it's highly unhygienic!! Tipping is only a thing here if you go out for dinner at a restaurant. You can tip whatever you want, there isn't an expected percentage at all. If you enjoyed the food feel free to tip but if you had a bad experience it's perfectly okay to not tip at all. Nothing will be said to you. You don't have to tip at all if you are just in a pub and order a round of drinks. The weather here is VERY changeable. We normally joke around saying that we experience all seasons in one day. October can be mild enough to extremely cold and wintery so make sure to pack clothing for ALL kinds of weather. You definitely won't be walking around in just a tshirt at that time of year. Hopefully those are a few useful tips! I'm so excited to watch the vlogs from this trip! If you have any other questions or queries regarding Ireland feel free to ask. :)
I went to Ireland last February and only spent a day there before a family emergency brought me back home early. So the fact you’re doing this there is WILD!! 💚💚💚 so exciting.
I love this! You should do a weekend trip within the states!
