"Crenshaw Commons Women's Center" by Christina Johnson

The Crenshaw Commons Women's Center is designed as a model site providing a continuum of services to facilitate the transition into stable living for women who are homeless. A focus of this project is designing environments that strengthen social networks, to provide opportunities for connecting with self, peers and community. The design of program elements and services within the landscape, including the design of streetscape and gateways, knits the center into the surrounding community.
