@@NewBunny-vc2pm Good question, It’s the first time I’m planting it a raised bed so I’m treating it as if it’s a container really , I’m inclined to be more mindful in the summer that it doesn’t dry out and gets enough watering. Last year it survived in a smaller pot than the video and it came back, I was even more thrilled it even came back blue. I actually think Hydrangeas are quite hardy so I’m not worried about it at all. Many thanks 🌸Wendy🌸
@GardenRewards thanks Wendy! I'm in the US and my understanding is that the plant should be rated at least one USDA hardiness zone lower if planted in a raised bed or container. But I haven't tried it with perennials or shrubs yet (have only used raised beds for vegetables so the winter doesn't affect). I hope it goes well for you!!
@@bridgetteparker5149 They recommend ericaceous compost for blue hydrangeas and I water in aluminium sulphate around the base of the hydrangea, with your hydrangea already pink you may not see any results straight away maybe not until next year but you may see the blooms start to change colour so it could be a bit of a waiting game. I have a hydrangea in a pot which is pink. If I start watering it with the aluminium sulphate will it turn blue?
