@@sheepfarm7560 Hi Dave. Yes your right the cold snap will definitely see them pesky aphids off, I was just so surprised to see them, don’t think I’ve ever seen them in November before. And thank god I got my rose planted when I did, I planted it Saturday morning and by the afternoon we had rain, so I was very lucky. I nearly never got the rose this year either when we went to order it, it said sold out, luckily my husband left his email address and they got back to him to say they had stock. @@sheepfarm7560 It’s always a little emotional for me when you think of all the young lives that were lost. My Dad ( who was in the Second World War ) never missed watching Remembrance Sunday on the tv. I think I had to retake the poem about six times as I kept weeping 🥲 Thank you for watching 🌸Wendy🌸

@@NewBunny-vc2pm Good question, It’s the first time I’m planting it a raised bed so I’m treating it as if it’s a container really , I’m inclined to be more mindful in the summer that it doesn’t dry out and gets enough watering. Last year it survived in a smaller pot than the video and it came back, I was even more thrilled it even came back blue. I actually think Hydrangeas are quite hardy so I’m not worried about it at all. Many thanks 🌸Wendy🌸

@GardenRewards thanks Wendy! I'm in the US and my understanding is that the plant should be rated at least one USDA hardiness zone lower if planted in a raised bed or container. But I haven't tried it with perennials or shrubs yet (have only used raised beds for vegetables so the winter doesn't affect). I hope it goes well for you!!

@@sheepfarm7560 yes it was lol I was in two minds to delete it but I have nothing to hide and you have to start somewhere don’t you, have to say it’s still a bit nerve wracking now. I was filming it just to try and work out how to upload a video and still wasn’t sure if it would upload ( I had tried and failed a couple of times before). Have to say it takes some getting used to and the editing can take longer than the video itself, now it’s getting a bit easier, finally 😂 🌸Wendy🌸

@@GardenRewards you want to see my lawn still on going project when I moved in it was 3 foot tall full off weeds with everything not right I have managed to get it like something like no weeds now just put down evergreen complete 4 in 1 and I just need a good rake and more feed

@@bridgetteparker5149 They recommend ericaceous compost for blue hydrangeas and I water in aluminium sulphate around the base of the hydrangea, with your hydrangea already pink you may not see any results straight away maybe not until next year but you may see the blooms start to change colour so it could be a bit of a waiting game. @@BionicRasta if you have persistent weeds, the vinegar or boiled water methods are so cost effective that you can reapply them and for really good results when it’s hot and sunny they burn to a crisp. Just be careful in areas near plants and lawn as it will harm them to. Hope this helps 🌸Wendy🌸
