Here's a tip that I learned from watching a lot of videos and documentaries on issues such as this. Usually when somebody that is an adult female gets abducted it's because they do something totally silly that nobody would think about. When walking try to look ahead keep your head up. To abductors looking down is a sign that you are timid, shy, fearful. With your head up you seem more confident and they prefer somebody they can take easily and a confident person is not easily. That advice came directly from a psychopath on a show I watch.
Simple yet so true! To add on this, I once read somewhere that many attackers have admitted to passing on victims who look them straight in the eyes because the attacker then knows there’s a high chance they’ll be identified in a line up ((EDIT: being assaulted is NEVER your fault. These are only safety tips that may help you escape from a dangerous situation))
100% yes on the yell fire thing. From some police officers I know, never yell help, yell Fire. People run to see where a fire is but sadly avoid cries for help.
For all the ladies out there, stay safe. Pray for me, I walk everywhere cause I'm too poor to buy a car, and I'm always afraid of something like this happening to me.
How you walk makes a difference too. Walk boldly as if you are confident, even if you aren't, not cowering and timid like frightened prey. You can get panic buttons to carry with you as well that are extremely loud that will help scare off potential attackers.
No always keep ur phone out and have an ongoing conversation on speaker phone saying out loud where u are .that ur walking and great I can see u .thanks for getting up to meet me. It worked 3 times for me.
yeah i agree 100% but i think he meant by just going on social media and doing nothing, instead of calling a friend/family member yk ? but yeah, calling someone is 100% a safe thing to do as the attacker will get afraid
Message for everybody: Please be safe when you are out of home, being alert of your surroundings is very important, it can prevent possible tragedies so stay safe :)
Im 18, and currently walk home alone from work late at night, my security is remaining on videos call with my mum a) she reminds me to be alert and b) I'm less nervous with company as I don't have a chance to think of the bad possiblities 😅
I agree. I like the video call idea as long as you stay aware of your physical surroundings. In fact, just “being on your phone” is probably a deterrent. A predator is not as likely to continue if they think you’re talking to someone who may know your whereabouts. In fact, I have often pretended like I’m talking to someone on my phone when I’m not. And this was during the day. It just makes me feel safer. I just pretend like I’m acting. I just make up questions like “How is your mom”? “I heard you just got out of the Marines?; I saw your brother the other day. He’s even bigger and taller than you are.; You know where I am, right?” Sometimes, I just make a game of it.
When I was being followed I took a sharp but casual turn into a block of flats I knew wasn't a security block - From the 3rd floor I watched the guy turn & head back in the direction he came from - this only applies if you're familiar with the area of course.
I also walked into a busy road , and went into a shop , stayed there fore couple minutes , and he wasn't out there , that's like my first time attempting to walk alone ,
This is so passive and leaves room for too much vulnerability. What works for me is to just stare at the person, seriously. Stop walking, turn around, and just stare at them, you can even tell that MK in the face and say hey I know you’re following me. This lets the person know that you’re not an easy target. This might be the first video I didn’t like by Brightside. Never show weakness
SERIOUSLY.a Strange woman WAS slowly driving Behind me in the street while I was WALKING slowly going somewhere . I was living in Antioch at the time . I Stopped and Stared at her. She Turned her head ad if she was looking at houses on the opposite side of the street but she was driving off slowly , I continued to Stare Hard at her with my hands on my hips. It was very strange . Ppl were Actually Gangstalking me & my son in Antioch . My son walked up to one guy and asked him..hey are you ..Following us ? Then one Early morning I was walking out , then sat down at a bench outside a fast food restaurant that wasn't open yet . .I Hear a weird buzzing noise in the trees ..I see these tiny Drone birds hovering above me near the trees. When I spotted that they flew Away.

I agree with the hidden hoodies. But from personal experience, the hair down makes no difference and in my case made it worse, it damaged the neck of my spine. What I would suggest is to bring it round to the front in a side. Phenomenal video, really important, life saving!
I watched the video for this hair stuff mostly, because I do have a little experience or observation, and it seems to me that it is way more easy to grab the hair when it is down. And I do try to keep an eye on fixing my hair quickly in case of a suspected phisycal conflict. I am not an expert, but it happend to me that way, so I think that would be great if it was clear why they suggest it this way. I do have the exact opposite experience with the hair stuff. Not to mention that you can see better without having your hair over your face while you move.
yeah, i thought to myself : "but, wouldn't that make no difference as you can still grab the hair in front of you ?-" so, yeah as you said, bring it at the front, or maybe wear it as a bun as it would be mostly on the top of your head.
These tips are helpful but you're not supposed to put your keys in your hand with the teeth out like that. Instead, choose one key and hold it with the teeth sticking out the bottom of your fist with the rest of the keys in your hand. It makes it sturdy and easier to defend yourself. Hope this helps.
Keys between the fingers make no advantage for the key's wielder, they don't produce force and instead, torque painfully against the finger bones and inevitably harm the defender; instead, align all the keys in one direction with their bases in your palm, their points will deliver a concentrated gouging force sufficient to leave defensive wounds which can later identify the offender. If you can strike their groin hard enough to stop them momentarily, they bend over, strike their groin again from behind.
In my youth I was followed a few times in London UK. Two were ex's and luckily I was able to turn the corner and get into my apartment. from one. The other I didn't know about until he started sending me flowers, then threatening letters and finally destroying all my flower pots and my garden. I had moved a hundred miles away and never told him where I was moving, so I knew I had been followed. The worst one was late at night, two big Guys followed me down an unlit street, fortunately I had my keys ready as a weapon, I did not use them, when one literally cut my purse off my shoulder, I started running and the other guy ran after me but I had my keys and I was able to get into my apartment and. close the door on his face. Please be aware Ladies, this stuff is very real.
Great advice!! Also if you think you are being followed go somewhere with a long line of sight, then go somewhere else and do the same thing, then come back to your original spot and if you see the same person again then you’re being followed! And try to remember more physical features of people because those are harder to change, stay safe!! 💕💕
The only caveat I'd throw out there on this information is that the instruction for how to hold your keys when using them to strike is a common misconception; instead, hold your keys, all of them or as many as you can, between your thumb and first finger with your thumb pressed flush to a key as you strike. I know it sounds a bit counterintuitive, but striking with the keys as recommended in the video will actually cause as much damage to your hand as it will your stalker's face, particularly if you need to strike more than once.
I was terrified through the whole video. I've been kind of in that situation before. Luckily, there was a police officer nerby. It only lasted a couple of minutes, but it felt like an eternity. Stay safe evryone.
I've been followed and watched everytime I'm existing College and i didn't Realise it until yesterday when the person a approached me and asked where my boyfriend was and what I was doing there , he said don't be scared I won't do anything to you and obviously you will be scared in a situation like this m thankfully the college guard rescued me

Situational awareness or presense of mind, quick physical reactions or reflexes, mental strength or toughness, composure or self-confidence, resourcefulness, the instinct or the will to fight back and defend yourself, knowing when to fight back or when to just run away as fast as you can, avoiding people places and situations that potentially lead to heated altercations or violent encounters, and your martial arts/fighting/self-defense skills and techniques (if you have any or some) which you have spent long periods of time practicing and training, can drastically increase your chances of successfully defending yourself and surviving potentially violent self-defense encounters. Speaking based on my personal experience as a self-defense practitioner.
if you are been followed and do come among people DO NOT say you think they are following say your 100% certain if its a mistake that can be sorted out but people may think your paranoid, silly or most peoples first thought is your mistaken, so don't sound unsure as they may not help you enough to save you, or believe the person if they say your mistaken be firm, if you have to say he crosses when i cross i doubled back and so did he and when i jogged so did he and try and get a picture and upload it that will scare them off and beware for the next month just in case they are more dangerous than you first thought they may be stalking you TELL SOMEONE WHAT HAPPEND and what they looked like don't be scared to ask someone to meet you in the car park or walk you to and from your car,
I heard don’t yell for a father but yell out a male name. (Like “David!”) The person is less likely to come after you if they think a strong man is around. I also heard, even if you are in a crowd you could be ignored if you are danger. Instead try yelling out to a certain person (ex: Man in the red shirt!) It will make them feel like it’s more their responsibility to help you. If a person casually grabs you and you are threatened in a public place, then yell out “I don’t know this man!” (Even if you do) This is especially important to children because someone might think you are just a child throwing a fit. I agree to NEVER shout help. Someone far away might think you are just a child playing.
2:57 I did this once. A man was following me with clear evil intentions. After walking faster and faster.. when he almost got me I turned back and cried loudly: " what's wrong with you??!!". The man was shocked, he laughed nervously while I kept standing and looking at him furiously.... He turned back and left.
Top tip. NEVER put your keys in between your fingers like that! That's a perfect way to break your fingers and injure yourself far more than your attacker. DO NOT DO THIS, please.
My Daughter had to call the police a view years ago bc she and two friends were followed by a Van on their way home at night. What they were told :" sorry, we don't have enough recources to send someone"
Be prepared x Great video and advice. Wearing earbuds , you won't even hear them. I have PTSD ....bit hyperventilate , pertentionly dangerous person = me x
I highly recommend reading the book called, “Gift of Fear” to learn how to protect yourself & Protecting the Gift to learn how to protect your children.
Many years ago in Madrid, I was out with a Spanish friend. These two Middle Eastern looking characters started chatting us up. I ignored them but they followed us out. Our car was a couple of blocks away. There were a couple of cops on a corner and I told my friend to tell them we were being followed but she fluffed it off.The cops saw we were "discussing" something and asked if they could help. She finally told them about the guys and they stepped in front of them, blocking them til we got to the car and safely inside. TRUST YOUR GUT.
Generally, don’t get picked up or dropped off by Ubers, cabs, or strangers at your exact address. I once got towed back to my family home & the tow truck driver came back to offer me a “trade” to get the towing costs refunded. I saw him returning from my 2nd floor bedtime window (above the front door), called my mom & told her everything (including the info from his business card), & cracked open the door with her on the phone repeating his words to her. He was shocked when I told my mom that he said he’d give me a refund if I went out with him. My mom’s comments were priceless & I told him, “No thanks. My mom & I agree that you did a great job with the car & should keep all of the towing costs.”
That's not necessarily true because then they can pull you by your hair you just let down.. That's why cops and correctional officers always wear their hair pulled back.
Also you can do is turn on your phone's torch light and flash it into his eyes which'll get him blinded so you atleast get some seconds to hide or run yourself + always always keep something defensive with you I personally do is I keep a pepper spray in my pocket and a very small baby knife in my shoes or keep something that I'll help you someday I've always kept it with me even if i have to go out somewhere very close down the streets just to be precautions ...
If someone isfollowing me I go to the coffeshop that policemen having a break and inform them or close to the place they are patroling. That works for me
Thanks for making this video I think you have a lot of really great tips I'm going to show my teenage daughters this video so that you can watch it and learn some new ideas about being safer.
Also you should never keep your license or identification in the window of your wallet. Someone can read it over your shoulder. If you must keep it there turn it around backwards so no one can read it. The more you know
This might sound like common sense but it really could save lives, not just women but men, as well. You never know who's out to get you! Stay safe out there everyone, best of luck and much love from NC. 🙏❤️🇺🇸
Pov: you circle the area just in case someone is following you, but at the same time someone in front of you was circling the area just in case you were following them, so as you haven't "reason" to circle the area, they think youre following 'em
worse comes to worst climb under a car, and scream for help, watch your feet thats the only way they can drag you out and try to wedge your shoulders between car and road its very hard to drag a wedged person from a car, and hopefully someone will see
I once had a man following me around relentlessly whilst I walked my three dogs. One day, he bent down to try to scratch my dog’s chin and got bitten in the process. The man never bothered me again. And I thanked my chihuahua, Gizmo. But not all women are as lucky as me.
Actually watch the tops off shoulders and arms because they can't hit you with there eyes. Also use said bags to bonk them on the head, tin of bean over the noggin would hurt
If you're trying to get help from others (not just in these sort of situations, but any situations really), make sure to choose one or two specific people to help you and also make sure you clearly communicate why you need help. This can help you avoid the bystander effect. Look up the Kitty Genovese case.
There is a tip in this one: Go to well popolated areas. They'll crash other people or get separated from you by a red light. Don't let they got a hand on any of your body parts If they are catching up near you, run to somewhere safety. Note: If they can recognize the details about you, remember the details of each other.
My step daughter .. would always Steal our knives when she was going out with her boyfriend. I would ask her ..Why are you taking our knives all the time ? .. & she said it was for her protection . That girl used to Run the streets & was a wild child.
Take a women's self defense course and practice it at home to build up muscle memory so if something happens you don't have to think about it and you can disable someone and get away. Look for one through the YWCA, police, adult enrichment center, martial arts places, 211, or in social media.
I remember 4 years back I was out to get a haircut and I left my phone at home, on my way back a guy was asked me for directions to a school and I said I don't know but after that he asked if he can drop me. I said no. And just stayed on the busy street and he was there the entire time as well. For a minute and then rode his bike on top of the flyover bridge. I had to go down the bridge to get home.. and well when I looked up his eyes were fixed on me. I felt this chill and I ran ran and ran until I reached home. And immediately told my mom about this. It's been years to this incident but I still wonder what would have happened if I didn't carried that situation smartly.
Always walk on the side of the street facing traffic coming toward you; this way you cannot be. surprised by someone pulling up behind you. If you must walk in a spot where traffic is going the same direction, keep to the far left to make it harder for anyone to grab and pull you into a vehicle . Also, if you must walk past parked cars, make sure you keep as far as possible from the curb so if anyone tries to use an open car door to block your path. Most importantly, pay close attention to your surroundings, making a mental note of any and all possible escape routes as well as houses that you can run to in an emergency.
wait.... running away from a stranger trailing you only to follow two unknown man ? how can you be sure that the two man you meet wasn't the friends of the stranger? i mean what if there were not only one kidnapper but more waiting?
Many years ago, I was walking with my child in his push chair, and a car stopped with 3 men, asking if I knew the time, before I could say anything, I instinctively started running so fast and ran into the nearest shop, the police told me they were looking for them, can't bare to think what would of happend
Just break some bottles of whiskey turn it into powder then always carry it with you specially when you're walking alone at night then if a stranger walks up to you with bad intention throw it into his eyes lets find out what happens next
I've met, spied and been with those type of people making them think I was one of them just to confirm if they were trying to do something to a family member, some are very clever but because I'm very observative I prevented many possible tragedies around my neighborhood. Please no matter how old or gender you are just always make sure to be safe outside home.

Head up and look around alot. They will go for someone who is less trouble.

100% yes on the yell fire thing. From some police officers I know, never yell help, yell Fire. People run to see where a fire is but sadly avoid cries for help.

if you are been followed and do come among people DO NOT say you think they are following say your 100% certain if its a mistake that can be sorted out but people may think your paranoid, silly or most peoples first thought is your mistaken, so don't sound unsure as they may not help you enough to save you, or believe the person if they say your mistaken be firm, if you have to say he crosses when i cross i doubled back and so did he and when i jogged so did he and try and get a picture and upload it that will scare them off and beware for the next month just in case they are more dangerous than you first thought they may be stalking you TELL SOMEONE WHAT HAPPEND and what they looked like don't be scared to ask someone to meet you in the car park or walk you to and from your car,
I heard don’t yell for a father but yell out a male name.
After walking faster and faster.. when he almost got me I turned back and cried loudly:
" what's wrong with you??!!". The man was shocked, he laughed nervously while I kept standing and looking at him furiously.... He turned back and left.
Great video, but I can't help feeling there's too much to remember. I would have to watch this quite a few times before it sinks in.
👍
Pick the best one if it will apply
Awful
When you said that go to some people and ask for help , what if they were the same people of the person who is following us ?

Happy birthday "STEVE IRWIN" (February 22, 1962)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Rest in peace. We love you and miss you 🐊

Also you can do is turn on your phone's torch light and flash it into his eyes which'll get him blinded so you atleast get some seconds to hide or run yourself
+ always always keep something defensive with you I personally do is I keep a pepper spray in my pocket and a very small baby knife in my shoes or keep something that I'll help you someday I've always kept it with me even if i have to go out somewhere very close down the streets just to be precautions ...

I really like this narrator voice
Pov: you circle the area just in case someone is following you, but at the same time someone in front of you was circling the area just in case you were following them, so as you haven't "reason" to circle the area, they think youre following 'em
worse comes to worst climb under a car, and scream for help, watch your feet thats the only way they can drag you out and try to wedge your shoulders between car and road its very hard to drag a wedged person from a car, and hopefully someone will see
You learn a lot from bright side than you do in school
So true
I wish bright side is my teacher
Also, don't Ever walk alone at night, or, even in the day in today's insane world.
Right!

It’s a lot harder to grab a bun than a handful of long loose hair 😑
Yes I would never let my hair down, it is waist length and would make it easy to grab plus getting in my face while I’m trying to get away
I turned around and looked a nefarious character who was walking towards me one time. I stared him down, and he turned and walked the other way.
Incredibly informative!! Thank you for your time and energy in making these videos for the world to live a little more confident and safely!!💐🥂🏆🔥💯💕
Imagine the stalker is watching this and thinks for an alternative ways on how to counterback these scenarios XD
There is a tip in this one:
Go to well popolated areas. They'll crash other people or get separated from you by a red light.
Don't let they got a hand on any of your body parts
If they are catching up near you, run to somewhere safety.
Note: If they can recognize the details about you, remember the details of each other.
I never leave my house without a pocket knife or pepper spray
My step daughter .. would always Steal our knives when she was going out with her boyfriend. I would ask her ..Why are you taking our knives all the time ? .. & she said it was for her protection . That girl used to Run the streets & was a wild child.
Thank you for this 🙂
youre welcome 😊
Couldn’t thank you enough for this helpful video. I’ll remember the important info you gave.

Carry a loaded pistol in an easy to reach pocket (never in your purse). In addition, carry bear spray or a can of wasp killer spray.
This is super helpful! Stay safe everyone!
music literally made this way scarier than it needed to be (and im watching this at 2 am lol)
True
Tysm I always feel like someone is following me
And if that ever happened to me I would know what to do
Well, after this video your follower too knows what you will do and will know what to do too, getting complicated ain't it?

I was always like "hit him in his front "😂😂
I love this channel because it teaches me stuff like this
thanks for this. It would be a great help for me 'cause I'm preferred to walk alone always that having someone
Take a women's self defense course and practice it at home to build up muscle memory so if something happens you don't have to think about it and you can disable someone and get away.
Look for one through the YWCA, police, adult enrichment center, martial arts places, 211, or in social media.
Yess
I love you Bright Side🥺
IF IT IS STILL DAYLIGHT TAKE HIS PICTURE SEND IT TO FAMILY/FRIENDS SAYING HE'S FOLLOWING YOU
Ya because when you are trying to get away you want to turn back and take a picture 🙄
@@Nola5427 NOLA IF HE IS BEHIND YOU JUST AIM THE CAMERA AT YOUR FACE AND HE WILL BE IN THE PHOTO YOU DON'T HAVE TO TURN AROUND
Or turn around and act bat 💩 crazy. That works.
Carry an alka seltzer tablet , pop it in your mouth and then turn around and act deranged... That might work too.....
@@JinxD247 🙌🤣💯 I like how you think
I once ran from actual kidnappers/rapists for about 5 minutes IN HEELS.
Use your heels and keys to protect yourself. 😢
wait.... running away from a stranger trailing you only to follow two unknown man ? how can you be sure that the two man you meet wasn't the friends of the stranger? i mean what if there were not only one kidnapper but more waiting?
Love your videos!

Wow didn't know that.thx
Insult the guy, call him names and everybody will come to the window thinking it's a couple fight
All these are excellent tricks to protect your self, but would this info on RUclips show the attackers how to counter react these tricks 🤔 ...
This is where the benefits of the sympathetic nervous system come in.
Or shout mum or dad that would work aswell. Every mother will look even if they haven't got the child with them

Many years ago, I was walking with my child in his push chair, and a car stopped with 3 men, asking if I knew the time, before I could say anything, I instinctively started running so fast and ran into the nearest shop, the police told me they were looking for them, can't bare to think what would of happend
Now Ik how to stay safe
Yup. Thank you so much.
Very informative....😉
Remember to call the police. Especially when you already have put yourself in a safe spot, but the person is still waiting.
You're the best Bright Side
That is actually great advice
FIREEEEEEEEE!!!! 😭
Just break some bottles of whiskey turn it into powder then always carry it with you specially when you're walking alone at night then if a stranger walks up to you with bad intention throw it into his eyes lets find out what happens next
Ah Dale Gribble's famous move: the "pocket sand!"
Thank you Sensei Gribble for your eternal wisdom 🙏
Could also take a selfie but aim the phone towards the person following you to get a pic or even a video
Imagine how many criminals, hackers, stalkers, ect. watch these kinds of vids, gives them plenty of info
I doubt that those nuts depend on videos like this.
I've met, spied and been with those type of people making them think I was one of them just to confirm if they were trying to do something to a family member, some are very clever but because I'm very observative I prevented many possible tragedies around my neighborhood. Please no matter how old or gender you are just always make sure to be safe outside home.
Great advice but scarry.
Thank you
Thank you, this will help someone
Thats why everybody should practice their 2A right
Boi, my hair is so long, it would make it EASIER for them to grab me
