Noah laying down a massive bridge

- Noah and Kalel got together in late April '13 to work on new Pillar music- the first time since the "For The Love Of The Game" album. We spent over 6 hours demoing out a new tune with the working title "Treffley Prommer". The ideas just kept pouring in. Right before we finished up Noah started playing this massive riff that became the songs bridge. Dig?
I am effing salivating at every one of these new videos.
I cannot freaking wait, I've been a huge fan of Pillar since I was in elementary school, which is saying something because I'm 21 now. Will be a fan until I'm dead.
seriously cant wait for this new album.
Decyfer Down and Hymns of Eden as well...Some pretty awesome albums
The Storm Is Coming!
Add to the list:
-Decyfer Down
-Family Force 5
-Plus, heard rumors of Nine lashes recording for their new album
So yes, this is going to be a good year :)
wooo shredding guitar! i like!
That was quick yet satisfying.
I'm stoked :) God Bless you guys
That riff has bite!
It's their best album so far :p
I think it's the whole equation put together that makes things a bit more straightforward. Noah is the most driven towards heavy and complex writing and even considered making a complex metal album while doing his own stuff. Lester seems mostly influenced by funk and very free style solo improvisation, although he is fairly quick and he has a lot of endurance with swift single pedal bass drum beats.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!GO ON GUYS!!THIS ALBUM WILL BE EPIC!!!
RED too. Release the Panic was released Feb. 5th. So 5 bands.
\m/ Would be interesting to hear some new rhythmic complexity from this band. I haven't really been a big Pillar fan in years, but I'm hoping they can bring something new and interesting to the table with the new album.
This is about to be super epic
This year new albums from:
-Pillar
-Skillet
-Icon For Hire
-The Letter Black
best year ever :)
YES SIR!!!!
and August Burns Red next month!!!
His guitar tone kind of reminds me of Meshuggah!
saaaweeeeet!
He likes Meshuggah.
It really seems like the band is finally focusing this album at what they do best which is Heavy riffs with good melodys. They always had a few standout tracks on each album but it never seemed cohesive to me. From every clip ive heard so far each one is literally the best ive ever heard the band sound. And i really think its because they are focusing on there strong points and really letting noah run with it. Plus another great sign is noah seems to be using the mushock baritone on all these vids which right away makes it even heavier. I really cant wait for this album. And honestly, ive always liked pillar but like i said before it was always a song or 2 and always wanted to see the band do an album like this. BIG announcement tomorrow im praying its the new song lion leads the way!
I Cant wait!!
megadeth and stryper as well :)
haha yes!!! I tried saying the same and I always get a bunch of fans that only heard their most recent album yelling at me. It's not a good change, they had a bad studio I think. If it were the same studio as before with Rob, all the songs would sound like The Outside by RED. That's just like the style of the music.
Yeah, I think Noah and Lester are probably the most exciting members of this band, really. Kalel's basslines have pretty much never stood out to me, and I'm not generally a fan of having rap vocals in metal (not to say I have anything against hiphop). But Pillar has always had some very strong guitar riffs and drum work, which I guess is why I sometimes still listen to them.
I know, man...the move from Rob Graves to Howard Benson might have been fatal for the new record, as was the lack of Jasen Rauch's involvement in the songwriting process. Ultimately, the explanation for the new album's impotence just might be the lack of two surprisingly important pieces to the Red puzzle--Graves and Rauch. Plus, Howard Benson's track record is awful. Seems like any time he produces a band's record nowadays, that record ends up being one of the band's softest and worst ever.
haha yeah I know what you mean. I really liked Rob's albums a lot better, he had really good taste and knowlege of what was needed for the record, but Howard's record for RED, it's alot of echoing in the drums and effects, sounds really roomy. The guitar's are really low, I bet this stuff sounds good live cause for one everything is good live and for two it's not the studio version we are listening to. But I really would like it if they go back to Rob.
Christians are hilarious when arguing about music.
Too bad Red's new album was soft and boring and unsubstantial and completely and utterly disappointing compared to their first three albums.
