To anyone out there that’s brave enough to recover their amp or other items I suggest using an air compressor and a cheap paint sprayer gun from harbor freight to shoot your glue over the area you are working on once you get the glue consistency how you want it you can adjust the flow of the sprayer and really get an even consistency with the glue. Works well with reupholstering auto headliners etc. too for getting the glue to lay out evenly and tack up to where you want it to work the best. Good luck and good job guys.
That looks like particle board. 🤦♂ It's usually best to use one long piece of tolex that will wrap the entire cab and meet on the bottom, depending on type of cab. And use a J-roller to press the tolex down, like they use for laying Formica.
@@texastoastchris i have 2 cabs done that way, i had to pay to have it done. you folks have spray guns ,try it sometime, you would be shocked at how well it comes out. heck i'd like to see a guitar finished that way.
Nice. I always wanted to do this
I agree about having a clean looking and well maintained amplifier. To each their own but I like my guitars to be clean and well taken care of.
is that enhanced tone glue?
Do you have link one the glue to buy it?
Really NIce looking, Nice JOB!!! I still wanna hear that JJJ Deluxe Challenger with the Charlie Christin Pickup. Rockin that Snakeskin guitar.

What kind of glue are you using?
Cool video Jim and Chris... J&C Amp refurbish INc.
Thanks 👍
nice amp
Any more Jag progress?
yes, but not in a video yet. I'm doing that guitar on the side on the weekends.
@@texastoastchris Great to hear! Always great to see offsets get some love.
Do you do Tweed covering
I think Jim does?
Looks good. I built my first head and cab not long ago and covered with Tolex. It was pretty enjoyable but the glue stinks!
The waterbased stuff we used wasn't too stinky, and was easy to clean up.
don't know if I missed it but what type of glue did you use.
It was an amazon product... just look up tolex glue

Looks good, but if I was going to all that trouble I probably would have just built a new box out of good wood.
Good wood? Like the kind they use in high end audio speakers?
don't use tolex. all the cool kids use line x bedliner.
the cool kids don't use bedliner. That's the hack move. Tolex, monkey fur, then bedliner from best to worst. :)

@@texastoastchris Suede, leather, then the others. Two Rock and Amplified Nation both use suede on some cabs. Cork sniffer cabs. 😁
