Isn't it interesting that Kenyans seek visas to western countries for greener pastures, but Indians seek Kenyan visas for the Kenyan dream? Where is the disconnect? Someone help me.

Indians like him and many who migrated to Kenya over 100 years ago did so for many reasons, the very first wave of Indians were brought in to build the railway as slaves during the British Colonial Rule. Whilst you correctly point out that many Kenyans dream of greener pastures in Western Countries, the diametrically opposite is also true. Many Kenyan Indians saved their money, worked hard, started from the bottom and made a name for themselves. And this does not mean being successful and not contributing to the Kenyan economy. They built successful businesses and employed many more Kenyans. Now I am not saying all Kenyan Indians had to start at the bottom, however for those who were in Kenya in the 1900's came with no wealth. Their families and success is based on what they built in Kenya and for Kenyans.

People are funny..so,all those hating and saying statements like.."Africans will be ruled by Indians" should first educate themselves..This is one rich indian, not all Indians in Kenya are rich, some live in very poor conditions especially in Mombasa, and some are very wealthy..just the same way alot of Kenyans go to the diaspora, some get lucky and through hardwork become rich..some dont. Its that simple.Take the positive from his story and leave the ignorant statements.

Phillips pharmaceuticals housed in phillips business park and the sister companies power technics and computer technics(shneider now)on mombasa rd are owned by indian heritage kenyans but what struck me is how they treat their workforce.
