How to Get Your Tibetan Singing Bowl to Sing

When i touch the mallate to the bowl after striking it it stop playing as if i touched it with my hand

Striking the bowl make the sound louder otherwise it takes couple of round before it become audible.

Whats the benefit of using the covered end of the mallet to strike to bowl vs. the non'overed end...other than muting the produced tone?

In a demo in a shop in Nepal the man used the covered end to make the bowl sing. I find the bare end makes a distracting noise.

@@cole_p_warren hit the bowl using the wood inside the mouth of bowl then connect that wood at the outer portion of side of the bowl and you will notice it will vibrate! Quick move!
