After 4 hours being in circles by HP's chatbots and exchanges with a live tech who kept telling me to open an non-existent back door, I finally found this. Perhaps your outsourced technicians (the ones in Manila) should receive it -- my frustration level would have been much lower. @@HPSupport Well, yes it was helpful, but would have been more helpful had I been sent here immediately And I repeat your chatbots are useless, and when I finally got a live technician, she was no help either. Pls fix your customer service -- I am not looking forward to a likely inevitable issue with instant ink. Where do I go then>
Yes agree that HP are useless. My printer is only just an year old. Printhead is stuck and the HP’s solution is to but another printer. It became a joke talking with their technical support. With £400 invested in the printer and genuine ink cartridges for something that doesn’t work. My solution would had been not to buy an HP product in the first place.
What the video neglects to mention is that in order to reach the paper tray, you need to lift the glass cover. You can't lift the glass cover unless you lift both the print feeder and the glass cover at the same time. (I found that suggestion on a completely different thread). Only then can you get at the paper tray, where, in my case, the paper jam was. And a special shout-out to the idiot at HP support who, instead of helping me find it, told me that since my printer was out of warranty, I needed to replace it. Completely, totally unhelpful.
Thank you SO much. I too couldn't figure out how to get the glass cover to open. I successfully removed my paper jam after reading your comment. THANK YOU!
HP Office Jet 9010 printer: 8 1/2'' x 11'' paper not retained in place, moves backwards in paper tray causing paper to be out of alignment to feed into printer. Result paper jam. Retainer intended to hold paper supply in place not able to be adjusted forward to retain paper in place. Result: Need to Jerry-Rig retained to hold 8 1/2'' x 11'' paper in place to prevent jam. Otherwise, decent printer. Suggestions appreciated. Reference: pdt
Missing important step. Have printer ON or scanner bed will not come up. If power is OFF scanner tray is locked down. Forcing it will break locking mechanism built that way so printer can be carried securely. When watching the video I noticed the ON light.
My 9015e has a release button to get the glass to lift up. None of the videos seem to mention it. I could tell that something was securing the glass down. I finally put a pair of scissors into a rectangular shape opening and it popped right up! I just saw a comment on another video a watched that makes it sound like the class is not locked if the printer is off. I had no idea.

Very good video that did solve my problem, which when it first happened on the similar model printer last year I could not open the glass panel ...... I had to buy a replacement, the HP OJPRO 9025 e ... which jammed yesterday.. Luckily I found your video and managed once I found out how to lift the glass plate (lid assembly) by accident! The link you gave to Stuart Lockman did not work for me and just took me to a blank "search for" box on HP Support. I clicked on "misinformation" not knowing it would delete your message -- sorry about that! Something I've found useful on technical instruction videos like yours is to remember and use if it's active for you: Settings (the gearwheel) often contains a speed setting and changing to 0.75 is much easier for one to follow and since mouse clicking on the screen, or pressing the space-bar, will stop the video and repeating that will restart it you can turn the video into a step by step set of instructions that you can do step by step. Also when available the CC link putting your voice in subtitles is again very useful since you can reread a stop without having to back-step the video. Thanks again.
