How the heck does John's voice not fall apart? I mean shoot two bands a night..... and his vocals sound really good..best I've heard him live
I think, unfortunately, he has been lip syncing at certain points in a setlist for some time, ie Whispers and Rebirthing choruses. It's a shame, but obviously the guy is in his 40s now, Skillet's schedule is non-stop, and like you say- 2 bands in 1 night!!
@@danielcooper1294 if he lip syncs then it hasn't been at any of the 5 times I've seen him perform. So if he does lip sync then it is done VERY sparingly.

I like Fight the Fury better than Skillet nowadays even just from their 5 releases... John is not afraid to go heavy like he is on new Skillet records and the guitar work is insane
I have to agree with this. I liked the older Skillet stuff better. FTF is absolutely epic. Skillet with the new stuff just sounds average.
Well the reason skillet sounds different every album is because like the name skillet is a pan that holds different ingredients, every album they add a new ingredient or take away an ingredient
Ehh, I wouldn’t say he’s afraid to go heavy with skillet. It’s just it’s not always necessary to go heavy, sound needs to match the lyrics, and especially considering skillet was 7 years into their career (collide) before they decided to try a heavy sound. Nowadays (from rise to dominion) they just blend every style from their career into each album.

The drummer looks like a software designer who sits around playing D&D in his spare time. Not the type you would expect to have those kind of guns.

I thought that too.
Kinda strange seeing Seth do backup vocals in addition to lead guitar since that's the opposite of what he does in Skillet, but it's a nice change. Great show though.
