Omg that’s the exact opposite of the truth. The Germans won’t shut up about WW2, apparently it’s the bulk of what they learn about in history class. I went on a date with a German girl, and we saw a painting with the German Empires flag in it; she couldn’t recognize it.

Also I can guarantee you that at least 98% of germans think about the time of the 2 world wars as the darkest in our countries history and are aware of the crimes our ancestors did. The other 2 or less % dont know about this time, or they are nazis or Conspiracy theorist. And you said "The Germans won't shut up about WW2" but this is not true. In almost every country Germans travel, people ask them if they are nazis or something like that ( Especially in the US). Most Germans don't want to talk about this topic because it annoys them. Imagine there was a war 80 years ago and you are still asked about it, while you and your people moved on and have a (mostly) peaceful life.

Another cool comparison would be military spending as a ratio to their overall available spending budget. Nations like China and the USA have bigger budgets than Canada.
For victories I’m surprised US wasn’t lower considering it’s age compared to the other countries.

@@decepticontechno-organic3777 no only 100 wins were counted out of the 833 and they didnt even count the confederate wins only the union wins, and England/UK, France, and Russia also had civil wars and France had several revolutions against them selves plus the civil wars and religion wars all those other European countries had against them selves back in the medieval times so all of those inflated all the other military victory counts for the other countries too
@@UserName-om6ft I'm not saying other countries don't have civil wars - the discussion wasn't about them, it was about the victories America received in a short amount of time. Before the start of the civil war in 1860, America had 149 victories. At the end of the war in 1865, it was 378, around ~230, which is significant since it's about a quarter of their total military victories. Along with WW2, that would make up 600 victories. If they counted confederate victories, which is clear that they don't, it would add 100-150 to the count, unsurprising considering how bloody the Civil War was. I don't hate America, I just think that the civil war gets overlooked when discussing America's military victories from those numbers in particular. Also, some comments were memeing about it in the original video.
I also don't think it's a fair comparison to discuss medieval battles, since recordings were very poor back then. For reference, France recorded ~30 victories in the 100 years war, a very low percentage of their total, and while you can argue that England was dominant during the first part of the war, England's count during that period was just under 40. The French wars of religion also show similarly low numbers.
Since France and her habit of revolting came up, I think it's a testament to France's strength as a military power in Europe since shortly after declaring the First French Republic, France proceeded to have multiple empires declare coalition wars against her while the country was in shambles. From the video, France's sudden increase in victories from ~380 to ~760 only really got started with the start of the war of the first coalition in 1792 rather than the beginning of the revolution in 1789. There's no denying the way the coalition wars inflated France's military count - Napoleon is heavily associated with French military power, but it would be disingenuous to call the string of French victories during this period a civil war since they managed to wrangle so many victories despite crushing odds. Even battles between royalists and revolutionaries during the revolutionary wars heavily involved other empires. For example, the Siege of Toulon was only possible due to French royalists, but in the end, involved the navies and forces of the UK and Spain.

I see an inconsistency: When the countryball grows, its new volume do no correlate well with the parameter it tries to represent.
It seems that their grow is done correlating the value to their height, but not by their volume.
Here, I will leave you an ecuation for calculating how tall the ball has to be in order to showcase its statistic better:
X = Numerical Value that will be showcased and compared between countries.
A = Constant value, equal to 3/(4π) (Roughly 0.2387324)
H = Final height of the ball.
H = 2*(X*A)^(1/3)
So, if, for example, a country A spends 10 billions in healthcare and another country B spent 100 billions, their height would be, aprox:
A = 2*(10*0.2387)^(1/3) = 2.67 units.
B = 2*(100*0.2387)^(1/3) = 5.76 units.
The height of the country B would be twice and a bit more than A, but its volume would be 10 times bigger, giving a better correlation and comparison!

But thanks to our gouverment and some austerity measures over years it's drasticly underarmed compared to some other armys. (We mostly joke about it like "Wow. Our submarines can really dive long... in our harbours" ^^) Also: Our Bundeswehr is a defensive army and not for attacking :)
