    That's a nicely balanced system and the CPU does not max out with any game which is seriously impressive for an i3 and as you mentioned you can drop an i9 in as a replacement at a later date

      G'day, totally agree this is a nice ballanced build but...
      while an i9 may fit those ASRock 4phase VRMs are notorios for not even letting LGA1200 i5 run at full performance due to VRM Throttling even with a Heatsink,
      so i9 as an upgrade even in the future without a motherboard swap would just be a waste.

    • @dyslectische
      @dyslectische Год назад +1

      @@shaneeslick nope
      The specs tell that a 5vrm set is use
      The i9-10900(Q0) is a 65watt tdp and that will just run fine on it.
      Only the i9 125tdp have performance boost problems with the vrm.
      So really you can set a i9 on this board
      And i think a 10 core 20 threats cpu wil do just fine in the future.

    • @shaneeslick
      @shaneeslick Год назад +8

      @@dyslectische Yes that is what the Specs say, but 65W TDP has nothing to do with how much power the CPU actually draws.
      Plus I am talking about what Benchmark reviews have proven to be Facts that have gotten Reviewers like HUB & GN Blacklisted when ASRock told them to take down the Bad Reviews telling the Truth, not what ASRock claim in their spec sheet because as long as they only have to run at 'Base Clock' not 'Full intel Boost Spec' which is more than 65W through the VRM for the i7-10700 & i9-10900 they are within 'intel Spec'.

    The i3-10100 and Ryzen 5 4500 (despite its rep) is still a great budget option if found at $80 new. The RX 470 and GTX 970 used go for about less than $100, sometimes as low as $75, and this combo coupled with 16 GB of at least 2666MHz RAM can still game at 1080p very respectably in my opinion at a pretry low price compared to what other new options can be. You really don't need to spend much to get a good, mostly new system, with only the GPU being used.

      Well, it is built on a 12nm die shrink. Most Polaris based cards use a GPU based on a 14nm process. At AMD's reference clocks, the 590 is set over 200 MHz faster than the 580 regarding both base clocks boost clocks. The 590 does use more power though and generate more heat. However, PowerColor Red Devil cards have pretty good coolers.

    Never thought a 65$ cpu would be viable for gaming more than 2 years after its launch.
    Would still recommend an i3 12100f as that would last you much longer. For around 30 more dollars (and 20-30$ for a Motherboard like a h610...those are pricey but worth saving up... Even if it is one more month of wages that you need to get enough spare nickles to throw at it)

    I still have my RX 590... in a box, because I upgraded to an RX 6800. The Sapphire Nitro+ SE hits 1560MHz which is a little down on the Red Devil, but as far as I'm aware, the Nitros were the only cards to come with default memory clocks of 2100MHz. The blue colour scheme is unusual and I would be lying if I said the grey design from the RX 580 LE variant wouldn't have been preferable, but it's pleasant enough. I always made sure to undervolt it a bit, though it couldn't take a big reduction at stock clocks.

    GPU matches the case perfectly🤤😱. That’s the thing missing fr9m modern day cases is that uniqueness as many cases now are muted grey/black and nothing else. If y9 love themed builds older cases are the way to go imo 🥰🤩💪✊👍. The build is still a great budget gamer and will play most game titles just fine.

    The case is cool, as for the build: It makes sense if you have part of it lying around, but I think the board could spike the price if you had to make a build from scratch. Personally I'd most likely end up with a 1150 board + Xeon if I'd had to pair it to a 590 (480, 580, 1060... ).
    The PSU seems a bit on the low side for me since I usually use older higher powered CPU, but in this build it should be fine.

      The 590 is *a lot* faster. It should even beat a 6500xt. It is a bit power hungry though...

    • @leerobinson8709
      @leerobinson8709 Год назад

      Yeah the 590 is going to beat the 6400 in all games. It also isn't gimped by the 4x pcie bandwidth. The benefits with the 6400 are going to be its size, power draw, age and if you can really make use of them on this card, the few Ray Tracing cores the 6400 has.

    although i understand the primary point is to showcase the capability of being able to play the games whatsoever, it would be nice if you used the framerate unlock mod for Elden Ring to show what the maximum average framerate could be in your reviews. it probably would be annoying to deal with the Freesync/Gsync configurations every time you switch capable/incapable gpus

    I don't really understand why "budget" builds always save on the CPU cooler. Tower coolers aren't that expensive. You can get pretty decent tower coolers for a couple ten bucks. That's it. If your budget is so tight that you can't afford twenty-or-so bucks for a decent tower cooler, then quite tight it is. But you can buy some other component for that much cheaper to compensate.
