- I am by far, not a RUclipsr, so forgive my poor speech and redundant murmurs. This is just a video I did to show how clean the signal is from this head unit. My 2021 Head is the same way. The dsp in these are amazing.
in summary, I do a sweep with Audio Tool at full volume and show the voltage output from the head and use the oscilloscope to show the same sweep with Zero clipping.
I have had Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer and Clarion head units through the years, until my first Joying in 2013 ans since have had nothing but Android Head Units. I research the shat out of them before I buy. I am blown away with these head units. The value is great, the sound is amazing, and I can confidently say that this HU sounds as good if not better than any of the stereos I have had in the past. Even the first one I bought sounds amazing. Not at first, I had to do lots of fun stuff to it to get it the way I wanted. Rooting to start, then Viper4android, tweeking it, adding cooling, etc. In fact I was running that same head up until I bought this one and installed it in my Challenger. I have a 2021 13.3" rotating screen Joying in my 05 F250 Crew Cab, that I have big plans for a full SQ system with external DSP.
It's my longest video, I think, so bare with me, I'm not an editor. I need to start video editing and clean up my zct a bit, maybe start reviewing this stuff a little more professionally.
I managed to get it to clip, but it wasn't easy and not typical. With EQ set to my liking, I turned the the gains all the way up in sound settings as I did before and volume all the way up, I open Audio Tools and start with the sweep. And it repeats, I get a nice clean sign and it reaches 4.6volts.
In the Audio Tools software in the screen to choose left and right channels below that is a slider (can bee seen in the video set to a little over half way). I didn't have any idea what that was.
In these Android Head Units, almost all of them, the volume is controlled separately from the Android Settings volume and rhe Android Settings volume is preset, and the volume so adjusted through UI software. The slider I mentioned above, actually turned the volume even louder. The RCAs were hitting almost 7volts...! It will do this until the UI settings reset it to it's predetermined setting after ashort time. So while it was hitting 6-7 volts the sign was clipping. But when it was hitting 5 to 10 somewhere below 6volts,it was still a clean signal.
I gather that it is set to that volume in Android Settings to limit the built in amplifier, as I would assume that like any Head Unit, name brand or other, starts to clip at a couple clicks below full volume. For instance, this one FV is 36, so it would, like others, clip around 33 to 34, 33 being good still and 34 just starts.
Anyways, I found that pretty interesting.
Also, after playing with the Audio Tools volume, now, but when I use Gesture to turn up the volume, a number would pop up on the left side of the screen, not the typical volume pop up in the middle that goes up to 36. This would go up to 100. I that is the Android System Volume comtroling. This did this until I rebooted the system. Very interesting.
Just makes me want to root this thing even more.

This makes sense why my amp will clip when my previous 2021 joying head unit did not clip.
The amp was tuned to the old headunit & I haven't tuned it to the new head unit

I plan on doing some testing on the High level outputs on the head, perhaps today or tomorrow, but what I really want to do is get my amplifier tuned to the head, but this amp is limited. It's a Clarion XC1410 4 channel 300rms marine amp, really meant for a DSP involved. The problem I have is, is has a harness for the speaker outputs as opposed to farrel/screw outputs. If I unplug it to put the meter on, it senses I did and puts it into sleep, so at the moment the only way I see I am able to do this is with the speakers blaring full volume, or I chuck it and get a new one. I don't really like this amp much. It sounds good, but it's so limited. Only has a 60hz/90hz/flat switch and Low and High switch for input. I had been running it on low with my old unit because I didn't have a DSP at first, and lmao, forgot I had it switched to low when I did. Oh well, it sounded really good. I don't have a spare amp at the moment, just a 1000w RMS lanzar for back in the day when they were the shit. Maybe I'll tune it down. I'll have plenty of overhead, that's for sure, lol

@@ElevatedVehiclesyeah I’m one of them!! well this video debunked that bs rumor lol. I was hoping he’d run a test on just 1 frequency say like 1 kHz so I could see it’s steady top voltage I’m guessing they are 5 volt?
@@champion31337 actually I've tested & getting about 5.8v out of my RCA 's.

How configurable are the crossovers? Can you run an active hi/mid front stage using the front/rear channels? How about the center channel output? Could that be set to run mono rear speakers?
