Henrico PAL Executive Director Kenny Ragland elected National PAL president

Kenny Ragland, executive director of the Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL), will serve as chairman and president of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Police Athletic/Activities Leagues. For the next two years, he will lead the nonprofit organization's efforts to serve more than 2 million youth and foster positive relationships between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
"We're going to take this organization to heights it's never been before," he said after his election May 9 at the 79th Annual National PAL Training & Conference in San Diego. "I don't just say that. I mean that with all sincerity."
Ragland, a retired sergeant with the Henrico Police Division, has served on the national board for 12 years. His involvement with PAL began as a youth in a boxing program in Philadelphia.
"At every level of my life, PAL's had an impact," he said. "If it was not for PAL, for the mentors, the police officers that really engaged me and mentored me, I would not be here today."
