TADAAAAAA I did not think this video would be as long as it is but here we are. I really like playing the single player modes in Mario Party so I wanted to do a massive vid on the entirety of my favorite Mario Party story mode. Hope you all like this because I'm planning to do all the other game's story modes in big videos like these
VERN NATION PARTY SENSATION
Uhm Vern you can’t unlock characters for the story mode it’s literally just the 6 Daisy and Waluigi were never playable in Mario Party 3’s story mode I’d know I played the frick out of the game when I was a kid and also you basically chose the best character in story mode, Yoshi has Boo which is the best partner in the game especially when you have 2 of em, although 2 Chain Chomps oh now that just hits different

Let's see (Just in case anyone asks, I'm only doing this for the Mario Party first Trilogy, anyone else can do the rest):
Mario Party 1: The Eternal Star (possibly with ALL the Items bought from the Item Shop)
Mario Party 2: DONE
Mario Party 3: Creepy Cavern with everyone else, Waluigi's Island with everyone else and ALL Duel Maps with everyone else as well as Game Guy's Challenge (Collect 1000 Coins playing only Game Guy Games to unlock the Single Player survival Mario Puzzle Party Minigame) (Only accessible if you get a Miracle Star Rank in Story Mode) and if you're brave, REDO STORY MODE on SUPER HARD (Only available if you get Miracle Star on HARD!)
53:21 Luigi replaces whoever of the other characters you picked in this game's story mode, which leads me to believe that _he's_ the canonical protagonist.
The fact that Daisy and Waluigi are the defacto final opponents in the story mode that you can't use also supports this as those two characters have the most direct relationships with Luigi.

Turns out he isn't the Millenium Star, he's a faker. The real one was in Tumble's dice head the whole time.
MPIQ is fine in singleplayer, but in multiplayer that minigame hinges on you having angels of friends who'll patiently wait until the question is finished before asking, elsewise it turns into a luck-based minigame in all the worst ways.

Something cool about this game is outside of Japan this was the last first party game for the N64 (In Japan the last game Nintendo published was Mickey’s Speedway which North America and Europe got the year before). Hey Vern, how's your day been after playing Mario Party 3? Hope your day is going well, coming from a viewer that barely really comments on videos. I really love your content as well, and the fact that you're in 3 channels is super impressive. Your motivation is incredible!
As a Mario Party 3 enthusiast, I really enjoy this video a lot! Great job on getting the Great Star rank! I do agree with you the fact that Mario Party 3 has actually a really unique story mode. When it comes to hard cpus, they are very annoying at times so I can understand the pain. I am surprised that no one told you about how you can talk to the Millennium Star about your current star stamp progression and rank conditions. Your overall ranking does matter as well. If you got all S's in each board, you will unlock a room in the Free Play Room plus a Minigame just like the older 2 Mario Parties! About the Chain Chomp minigame from Game Guy, you only have to focus on the multiplier since sometimes the tiny Chain Chomp with the x4 or x8 can actually win. Someone did mention Luigi since he is only a placeholder(or the main protagonist) for the corresponding character you play as. Duel Modes are really interesting and super fun, I did wish you kept Toad or Boo with you at those times because I think they are the best partners in the game.
So, for the Party and Duel rank conditions. I can tell you that coins really do matter in these situations.
Party Ranks(you know how to get the S's):
S- 2 stars away from 2nd place.
A- 1 star away from 2nd place.
B- Have the same stars but more coins than 2nd place.
C- Have the same stars and coins but roll higher than 2nd.
Duel Ranks:
S- Have 3 or more heart pieces than your opponent.
A- Have 2 more heart pieces than your opponent.
B- Have 1 more heart piece than your opponent.
C- Don't hit the opponent but have more coins than your opponent.
Fun fact: If you both have the same heart pieces and coins, it is an automatic draw.
I sound like a nerd truly(more than Brent for Mario Party 3). Since you gotten the Great Star rank, there are more ranks into the game depending on your rank in the game.
The ones I know are like:
1: Mircale Star(the best one)
2: Ultra Star(Having that one A upon all the other S's)
3: Super Star
4: Great Star
5: Lackluster Star(I believe it is the worst rank with all C's)
This comment will be long, though. However, I do hope this information helps out you and everyone else! Also, hopefully, you'll make it through the homework you are given!
Edit: Mario Party 3 was the first ever Mario Party game to have a story mode.
