Estee Lauder Oxidization Tips
If you’re not sure of your shade, maybe you don’t want to hear this but you really should try it in person to buy it.
And if you can, go barefaced and try it on your face.
Once you try it, let it completely dry down.
I don’t mean for one or two minutes, tell the sales associate you want to look at it outside and give yourself a good 20 minutes, go get a pretzel or something, and do that!
Actually look at it outside.
It oxidizes, and that’s why it’s important to try before you buy, because you want to match for your oxidized shade, not the wet shade out of the bottle.
I have the shade 2C3 Fresco and I’m going to show you the oxidization.
The best analogy I can make is that it’s a little like paint drying, what ends up on the wall after it dries is not the same as what you might have seen when it was first applied.
Good luck!

UPDATE: This doesn't happen with every shade! I purchased 2N2 Buff recently and there is no oxidization! Shade worn in this video: Double Wear 2C3 Fresco ✅ Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (Sephora) go.shopmy.us/p-2025056

I am generally quite neutral in my preferences, and I tend to avoid full coverage so I usually use a minimal amount of DW foundation and gently spread onto my well-moisturized face. My preferred shade is typically 1N1, although I can also make 1W0 and 2C0 work due to how thin I prefer them on me. Interestingly, I've noticed that 2C0 tends to oxidize more noticeably than 1N1, and 1N1 oxidizes more noticeably than 1W0, at least in my experience. After watching your video, I began to suspect that cooler-toned colors are more prone to oxidation compared to warmer ones...
As a helpful tip, I'd like to share that EUK 134 from The Ordinary has been incredibly effective for me in terms of antioxidation. It's become a staple in my skincare routine, and I highly recommend it.
That is a very helpful tip, thank you! Always looking for good skincare at a great price, I appreciate it. You may be on to something, I just repurchased 2N2 and it doesn't seem to oxidize, or at least very little compared to 2C3.
Yes my shade is 2N2 and it doesn’t oxidize. I didn’t realize it is based on the shade I thought it had more to do with skin chemistry. Interesting.
Same shade as me! Yes I’m noticing the same thing…it never occurred to me some would oxidize and some wouldn’t even if they were so close to each other in the range. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Thank you!!!! ❤
You are so welcome!
I have 1N2 and haven't experienced any oxidation.
Oooh good to know! I'm glad it's not every shade, cause that would be wild.
That happened to me with the Neutrogena hydroboost foundation. The shade 10 (which I had thought was the lightest and right for my skin tone) oxidised orange on me immediately. Grr. I got the next shade 20 which was more pink and that one actually looks fine and i use the first one for priming my eyelids. My undertone tends neutral-yellow.
Ahhh so frustrating when this happens. I wonder if shades with pink/rose tones are more likely to oxidize? Thanks for naming shades, that always helps others who might be researching. Thanks for the comment!
Mine actually stays the same. However I had to stop wearing the Original & now only wear their Hydra Futurist as my skin is too dry 😭
Funny you say that because I switched shades and 2N2 doesn't oxidize at all! Someone here in the comments noted that perhaps it's the shades with pink.
