I know the ending she jumped. She knew what she was going to do. Claire was the one who told her husband where she was going. She jumped because she could no longer live two lives. She couldnt live the lie anymore
Irene shows a great deal of discomfort over the fact that her economic/social advantage allows her to avoid the ethnic issues that should be a part of her life. Meeting again her childhood friend and inactions with her husband exasperates the problem.
A really nice review about Passing! Just watched the film after binging all the interviews of Rebecca Hall explaining the film and her intention. I personally loved all the symbolism that could be seen throughout the film such as the foreshadowing with the passed out man in the beginning and the crack on the ceiling in Irene's bedroom.
To be honest I got the feeling that Irene was passing for straight, both women had so much inner turmoil but this was such a beautiful film
