    Some guy in a DIY appliance repair Facebook group I’m on says he’s a Samsung repairman. He advised me that before ordering a replacement pump I better be sure I could get the spring clamp off and on again. Told me I’d need a special tool. I almost ordered one, but the tool didn’t look like our would work with our spring, so I looked on RUclips for a demonstration of the tool. Instead I found your video, and I’m SO GLAD that I did! Went to the garage and grabbed a Flathead and my channel locks and in less than 2 minutes had removed and reinstalled the spring clamp. Guess I can order that pump now!

    I was struggling with this for a day and just could not get it back on, went to Home Depot to see if they have a spring expansion tool and they did not, was just about to buy the tool from Amazon for over $100 and then as a last ditch effort I searched on youtube and I came across this video and I have to say that it took me less than 5 minutes to do after following the instructions on this video. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for providing the repair videos! This video has saved a great deal of time and money, as the Samsung manual does not show exactly where the spring should be located. Samsung's customer service says that they cannot advise regarding parts and wanted to schedule a service appointment. By visiting your site, I could order a replacement spring clamp and watch a tutorial on how to install it. I'll be referring this site to friends!

    Just what I needed to watch and how he explains how to do it especially as he is a expert on how to do stuff like that on different appliances and I should be able to get the wire back on now instead of using a bit of wire and twisting it to hold it in place but it is always the same thing if you haven't been able to put the correct piece back on then you will be on borrowed time before the leak starts and ends up all over the floor and the dog is drinking the water from the machine with all the cleaning products in and then the dog is barking bubbles for a few days afterwards 😅😅

    Thanks, we almost gave up. Using a tool helped a lot. Somehow my towel got twisted around the seal in the door. and the seal got pulled into the machine in a big twist. it just kept going. I heard weird noises so I went to look. Glad I could hit the pause button. The seal ring fell off, but we got everything back in place. Now I’m not sure if I trust the machine to run while I’m away. I hope the drum or motor did not get damaged, whole machine is barely a few months old.

    • @worldissuesmatter1643
      @worldissuesmatter1643 4 года назад

      Adam Mullett me, too. Then I searched, found this. Took me about three tries. I found it worked when I put the vice grips about an inch away from the spring, and the key is to really, really, really pull in the same plane as the clamp goes. As soon as you pull even a bit away from the front of the washer, it pops right off.
      The vice grips was the absolute key, though, I was trying with needle nose pliers and getting nowhere.
      Thanks for these videos, every time I’m stuck on an appliance fix, I know I can find a solution.

  • @susanvarner4515
    @susanvarner4515 5 лет назад

    Our spring must be made of vibranium, because there is no way it expands as easily as the one in this video. Hours of effort and the thing just will not go around the seal without also pulling the seal off. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a $30 spring expander to see if that works. Thanks for the video though...super jealous of that springy spring.

    A lot of times the springs come off because of overloading them. The other problem is I think the shocks or springs on the inside get weak. My boss has a Kenmore ( Samsung ) and his spring is always coming off and flooding his downstairs apartment. We have replaced it and it keeps coming off.
