Some guy in a DIY appliance repair Facebook group I’m on says he’s a Samsung repairman. He advised me that before ordering a replacement pump I better be sure I could get the spring clamp off and on again. Told me I’d need a special tool. I almost ordered one, but the tool didn’t look like our would work with our spring, so I looked on RUclips for a demonstration of the tool. Instead I found your video, and I’m SO GLAD that I did! Went to the garage and grabbed a Flathead and my channel locks and in less than 2 minutes had removed and reinstalled the spring clamp. Guess I can order that pump now!
Totally. Wondering what other pieces of my washing machine are going to fall out now! At least I know where to look to put they bloody things back in though!
Bro just changed the Seal on my washer, no issues until this Bastard. I am telling you i was one Breath away from taking my Lump Hammer and smashing up my Washing machine, i swore to God if i ever come Face to Face with the twat that invented this spring part i would to unspeakable things to the fucker LOL
We’ve been trying for hours to get the retainer back on with no success till we watched your video! You’re a lifesaver!!! Thank you so much!!!! I’ve never been so happy to have my machine back up and running!
I was struggling with this for a day and just could not get it back on, went to Home Depot to see if they have a spring expansion tool and they did not, was just about to buy the tool from Amazon for over $100 and then as a last ditch effort I searched on youtube and I came across this video and I have to say that it took me less than 5 minutes to do after following the instructions on this video. Thank you very much.
Thank you for providing the repair videos! This video has saved a great deal of time and money, as the Samsung manual does not show exactly where the spring should be located. Samsung's customer service says that they cannot advise regarding parts and wanted to schedule a service appointment. By visiting your site, I could order a replacement spring clamp and watch a tutorial on how to install it. I'll be referring this site to friends!
Great video. Just sat for an hour trying to put the clamp on and with this technique did it first time. Thank you very much all the way from Newcastle, England
thanks you saved me some money, it took a lot of concentration to pull this off lol, i used my vise grips and follow your lead and it worked after quite a few tries.
Watched two other videos..but could not get the retainer ring on to save my life; I must've tried it 30 or more times. Your tip of using vice grips did the trick, first time! Thank you!
Just what I needed to watch and how he explains how to do it especially as he is a expert on how to do stuff like that on different appliances and I should be able to get the wire back on now instead of using a bit of wire and twisting it to hold it in place but it is always the same thing if you haven't been able to put the correct piece back on then you will be on borrowed time before the leak starts and ends up all over the floor and the dog is drinking the water from the machine with all the cleaning products in and then the dog is barking bubbles for a few days afterwards 😅😅
THANK YOU!!! OH MY GOSH after an hr of trying to get this on SO MAD ready to beat my machine I found your video wish I found it sooner. So painless got it on with one try THANK YOU!!
Thanks, we almost gave up. Using a tool helped a lot. Somehow my towel got twisted around the seal in the door. and the seal got pulled into the machine in a big twist. it just kept going. I heard weird noises so I went to look. Glad I could hit the pause button. The seal ring fell off, but we got everything back in place. Now I’m not sure if I trust the machine to run while I’m away. I hope the drum or motor did not get damaged, whole machine is barely a few months old.
The first few tries, it seemed impossible to fit the ring on. With a bit of perseverance and following your video exactly, i managed to fit it. Thank you! Ps the spring is at 7 o'clock. Will that be ok?

Adam Mullett me, too. Then I searched, found this. Took me about three tries. I found it worked when I put the vice grips about an inch away from the spring, and the key is to really, really, really pull in the same plane as the clamp goes. As soon as you pull even a bit away from the front of the washer, it pops right off. The vice grips was the absolute key, though, I was trying with needle nose pliers and getting nowhere. Thanks for these videos, every time I’m stuck on an appliance fix, I know I can find a solution.
Thank you so much, I need to do this and want to surprise my s/o, although he may not be surprised, my dad taught me to be self efficient😇, well hoping it goes as easy as the video....... If not I will be back😂
thank you so much!i loosened mine by mistake when i was just trying to clean it, spent over an hour with a spoon and pliars cursing, hopefully now i wont need a plumber to come rescue me...
Our spring must be made of vibranium, because there is no way it expands as easily as the one in this video. Hours of effort and the thing just will not go around the seal without also pulling the seal off. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a $30 spring expander to see if that works. Thanks for the video though...super jealous of that springy spring.
I’d really like to sue the mechanical dufus for 1) creating the need and 2) requiring the tool. Obviously he/she was a cheap flunky that designed it in 15 minutes. Arrrrggghh!
The seal on my washer came off, the old Spring Clamp wouldnt work, bought a new one from APP, waiting for it to come in, but im worried because i cant figure out how to have it stay on. Please help.
Thank you. I was so frustrated getting this part back on, I threatened my washing machine with a violent crowbar death. I'd never do that, but it doesn't need to know that.
This was the only video I managed to find that showed how to deal with a stubborn/stiff metal ring, even if it did take 2 people to do seemingly 1 man's job 😂
actually, i still didn't setup the washer. This video just gave me confidence to order the parts :) I just received them and will try to install this weekend. Thanks!
+AppliancePartsPros installed it. the rings were really hard. I cut my hands 4 times. it got quite bloody. but persisted and got it to work after my daughter helped hold done one side of the ring.
A lot of times the springs come off because of overloading them. The other problem is I think the shocks or springs on the inside get weak. My boss has a Kenmore ( Samsung ) and his spring is always coming off and flooding his downstairs apartment. We have replaced it and it keeps coming off.
Hey, every time I do it it seems fine but when it starts the spinning it really screws up and falls apart. This has been a problem for two days now and our machine starts leaking. I NEED HELP.

You took 2 hours of my life and put it into 30 seconds thank you so much!
Omfg are you me?
Whoever invented that outer spring needs to get slapped.
That statement is spot on and can be used on so many useless but needed parts😂😂😂😂

This was a lifesaver! I worked with the spring clamp for an hour before finding this. Using this technique it went on first attempt.
Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
THANK YOU!!! I spent 45 minutes trying to do it myself then I finally looked online and your video helped me!!!!

Thank U very much. Mine fell off and I replaced it. At first I didn't even know what it was
Thank you!!!
omg....thank you so freaking much 2nd try and got it.
Some of the springs aren’t as easy to stretch. Ours was very tight. It took two people to fix and I had to use a flat wooden spoon.
Our spring must be made of vibranium, because there is no way it expands as easily as the one in this video. Hours of effort and the thing just will not go around the seal without also pulling the seal off. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a $30 spring expander to see if that works. Even with a spring tool spreader it can be tough, i fought one yesterday and finally got it...

Awesome good to hear you got it done!
thank you
thanks, best way ever to install that pesky ring!!!
I’m running out of profanities to scream when I’m it pops out when it’s like 99.99% on
Were you able to get the clamp back on?
@@appliancepartspros eventually 😂
I had no trouble getting my loop on. It wasn't tight. I was worried the machine would leak but it seems ok
What if you’ve accidentally gotten the rubber out of the place? I can’t get the clamp back in and don’t know how to get the rubber back in
