I brought a new imported Netherlands made Dutch electric bike in Western Australia, Australia. I love it. I rode very long distance, up to 100km by new Dutch ebike.
Some of those cars look a bit like they nearly hit cyclists and the drivers are bit dodgy. Does the car at 5:13 not have to give way since the cyclist was already in the roundabout? 5:58 looks like the driver did not really want to stop and either only just saw that woman cyclist or the car driver had a bit of a selfish attitude coming though as she had to change her cycle path to avoid the car Also to avoid cyclists hitting each other do cyclists that have to cross the path of another cyclist wait until the way is clear?
5.13 That's was exactly how it should be done. Nothing wrong there. Nothing shocking really. This is how it goes all the time. Bit give and take. No problem.
Re 5:13 a) that’s not a roundabout, it’s a sequence of standard crossings b) in between the bikes going each way was plenty of room for the car to continue its journey (slowly) in the middle of the road. Wouldn’t have worked if there was also a car coming the other way, but there wasn’t. This is not a particularly busy intersection, especially not with cars. Re the later one, yeah, the car driver didn’t want to stop, and it wasn’t necessary. The woman on the bike should have gone around the car on the other side (that’s where her lane is), and then both drivers would have been able to avoid stopping. This is what it looks like when the bike driver is #failing. She was taking a shortcut through the left side of the street, which would have been fine except there was a car there.
Yes, this is the type of bike you need when you ride every day in a city setting. Upright position, curved handlebars and a low step or step through frame. These are really important for a few reasons, first being upright is safer, instead of other bikes where you lean forward, if anything happens you are already leading forward, plus upright position you can see better, then low step or step thru is very important for safety and convenience, and curved handlebars are also better for that kind of environment, all of these help your body remain happy longer, you will age better and can keep you cycling for a longer time (easier on the body)!
I hate city bikes. So slow... I commute on a race bike everyday to school (except when there's snow and/or ice on the road) and have no problem. It's comfortable and I can see well. I do have mudgaurds on it though and am planning to install a rack with panniers.
oreosaysb00 in that case, please, stay the hell away from the Netherlands. We have enough roadies to make sensible cycling dangerous. So, do us a favour, don't come.
I'm doing a study into weird Indians on the internet, I'd be very grateful if you could answer the following questions: 1- Are you Indian? 2- What was going through your mind when you were typing these words? 3- What were your intentions 4- What do you mean? Thanks
Now show the bicycle traffic in front of Amsterdam Central Station, affectionately called the "020 Gaza Strip". If God would not exist, it would be a blood-bath there.
Every time a dutch person gets on their racing bike it's super fast biking on beautiful county paths in the countryside. All Dutch people cycle on their heavy bike to get here and there. Those heavy-duty bikes live out doors. Their fancy racing bikes live indoors in their homes.

I could watch this all day.
Net als altijd komt markenlei met schitterende videos.
Blijf zo doorgaan jongen,niet stoppen!
WOW OH WOW!!!
What a peaceful world! So relaxing.
3:52 dutch cops on bicycles. Hihi they put the chubbier looking cops on bike patrol.
7:43 - I love this. Doggie gets to go for a trot, and people in wheelchairs can get around just as well as people in cars. What a civilized country.
And from watching, it seems it would take 30 or more bikes to make as much noise as a single car.
3:27 Young guy on a pink grandma bike and he doesnt give a f*.k . That's the Netherlands.
I think in that society most people won't care.
So awesome! Relaxing too.
10 minutes of heaven..
That one bike sounded like it needed some spanners and an oil can round it, it would drive me up the wall squeeking and screeching like that.
Super bardzo mi się podoba, pozdrawiam operatora nagrania
wonderful clip !!!
great video
3:52 that wheelchair guy was booking!
totoroben Hihi and those 2 were our cops.
Ze hadden voorrang, die met de scootmobiel kwam van rechts.
Next to my old house in Gruttershof.....:))))))

If you want to use your bike daily over here you would only be able to race outside the city. In the city everything possible will slow you down.
It doesn't work that way in the City. It's like saying I take a ferrari in new york because i'm faster

I thought I seen a mountain bike : D
didn't see any mountains though....

God doesn't exist, so they must be doing something right.
Working on it...
Me,as a dutchman,it is boring to look,so normal..
Relaxed cycling is so boring. Everytime I get on my road bike, it's racing time!
So what?
Go bake a cake and celebrate it.
They don't ride bikes to race, it's their means of transportation. I would live there anytime. Amazing place

Yeah, but you're a tough guy. We're all wimps. 😉
