As far as the actual list goes though I think it would be better to omit to utter drek and to base the list around the shittiest games of the year that actually had actually had some level of expectation of quality or interesting premise before their release. Arkham Knight, Overlord, Re-release of Raven's Cry and Alone in the Dark are excellent choices. The others; Digital Homicide crap, Asset Flip CopyPasta, and PoxelZ clones are all blatantly awful without anyone needing to quantify that. Maybe even do 2 lists: The Biggest Let Downs of the year, and The Steam Atrocities of the year?

Well, obviously. 2014 had pretty much no games worth playing (unless you believe hype-culture is a myth, and even then, Watch_Destiny isn't worth playing).
+Baron Von Banter ...this is true. I guess there was a lack of outstanding titles in 2014, really. Haven't played Bayonetta and I adore Smash, but a lot of games came out really felt more like placeholders than anything. Wolfenstein to me only stood out because there wasn't a decent shooter for the current generation (not counting Destiny), and as good as it was, Alien only stood out because there weren't any good survival horror games at the time. Shovel Knight is a niche I can't get into very well, so I'll exclude my opinion on that.
+JackZake64 2015 was WAY better than 2014. All things considered it was actually a goddamn amazing year (for games at least. Pretty good year for movies too). You can never judge the quality of a year by its worst media, because there will always be plenty of shit and the farther we get the more games people make each year, and so the more shit there is. But a year could see the release of a billion truly shitty games that are uninspired, barely-working asset flips and it would still be an outstanding year if there were ten absolutely amazing games released (and a handful of good ones to supplement). Because nobody buys the shit, so it doesn't matter how much of it there is. It only matters how good the good was. And this year had some pretty great good stuff.

+Andraste that's part of it, but the PS3 version was prone to crashes, especially later in the game. It was so bad that DLC almost didn't come out at all. As for arkham knight I haven't played enough to make a full assessment, but yeah, the bat mobile stuff is a royal pain

You want to know what's sad about Gabe Newell Simulator? After I played it and got some...interesting feedback, I dug into it a little, as I remembered I picked it up before. Turns out, prior to it trying to get on Steam, Gabe Newell Simulator was just an out-of-the-box first-person shooter with some tacked on survival elements and awfully produced, generic light flares. This means that the version we know today is actually a reworked and improved version of its original concept, the "better" game. And it's still the second worst of the year. Pretty impressive.
Feels weird to see Steam's downfall through these "shittiest of the year" -videos. Didn't even remember there was a time Steam was a good way for indie games to get noticed.

I guess there was a lack of outstanding titles in 2014, really. Haven't played Bayonetta and I adore Smash, but a lot of games came out really felt more like placeholders than anything. Wolfenstein to me only stood out because there wasn't a decent shooter for the current generation (not counting Destiny), and as good as it was, Alien only stood out because there weren't any good survival horror games at the time.
Shovel Knight is a niche I can't get into very well, so I'll exclude my opinion on that.
+JackZake64 2015 was WAY better than 2014. All things considered it was actually a goddamn amazing year (for games at least. Pretty good year for movies too). You can never judge the quality of a year by its worst media, because there will always be plenty of shit and the farther we get the more games people make each year, and so the more shit there is. But a year could see the release of a billion truly shitty games that are uninspired, barely-working asset flips and it would still be an outstanding year if there were ten absolutely amazing games released (and a handful of good ones to supplement). Because nobody buys the shit, so it doesn't matter how much of it there is. It only matters how good the good was. And this year had some pretty great good stuff.

+Mike White the game was batmobile simulator anyways. The only problem with PS3 Skyrim is that dlc came out late because bethesda designed the game for Xbox. Bethesda doesn't even care about PC either oh the irony.
+Andraste that's part of it, but the PS3 version was prone to crashes, especially later in the game. It was so bad that DLC almost didn't come out at all. As for arkham knight I haven't played enough to make a full assessment, but yeah, the bat mobile stuff is a royal pain
Mike White I had skyrim on ps3 for 2 years before getting it on pc and I never experienced crashes.
+Andraste I remember a whole period when both my friend and I on different copies of the PS3 version had the game consistently crash whenever you made any contact with a body of water. And beyond that there was a huge myriad of glitches at launch and while stuff like backwards flying dragons that occasionally crash the game is amusing it isn't an excusable state to ship a game in.

You want to know what's sad about Gabe Newell Simulator?
After I played it and got some...interesting feedback, I dug into it a little, as I remembered I picked it up before. Turns out, prior to it trying to get on Steam, Gabe Newell Simulator was just an out-of-the-box first-person shooter with some tacked on survival elements and awfully produced, generic light flares. This means that the version we know today is actually a reworked and improved version of its original concept, the "better" game. And it's still the second worst of the year. Pretty impressive.

Nice compilation there Jim. Though I have a little quibble with Skeletor announcing the titles. More than half the time it is nearly incomprehensible. I don't know if that's deliberate though. Something to do with effect applied on the voice that's stifled by mask I'd guess.

I play a lot of games, and I typically don't get any sort of motion sickness or disconcerted when watching or playing, but dear fuck, I had to look away when that TAKEN footage went up. That rain made my eyes hurt.
