KRS-ONE said it best in My Philosophy in 1988-"Rap is like a set-up...a lot of games, A lot of suckers with colorful names. 'I'm so-and-so,' 'I'm this, I'm that.' But they all just wick-wick-wack." This has held true 33 years later spanning into 3 generations and even more! The Hip-Hop I grew up with will never return, but the artists of that time dropped the seeds to learn from and survive this brutal thing we call life. I was fortunate to be a youth during the Golden Age of Hip Hop from the early 80s to the mid 90s. They left us life lessons and legacies to carry on and do the world good.

You are right....he is very very good....always has been....because of the very important questions he asks....never being afraid to cut right to the chase. But many many times he'll ask an important question and get an interesting answer and his followup is "yeah", followed by moving on to the next unrelated question. If he was even a decent followup question asker, he would be one of the true greats, imo.

KRS One wants to prove the White America, that not all black people are ignorant, and violent. So all of the activities and habits the average black person will enjoy? He'll deprive himself from enjoying. Well, in my opinion? It's his PERSONAL endeavor, he felt he had to Express, and accomplish, throughout his career. Was he successful at it? I don't think so. Times change along with trend, and this is how artists get played out, despite the fact of being a righteous brother, who's positive urban icon. Uhm, I bet people will get swept away by this. But KRS spews some incorrect and contradictory information here. One one hand he stereotypes masculinity as representative of the analytical and femininity is creative. Then he says people are caught up in "stereotypes." BUT, because of his delivery, because he has branded himself a teacher, people automatically think whatever he says is informed.

I'm always saying these new so-called rappers are nothing more than rap and rhymes it's not hip hop. And if you're not black or Hispanic from the so-called hood you definitely aren't kicking hip hop you don't know hip hop your rapping. Be happy with your rap music bcus you surely aren't spitting nothing about our culture let's get that straight. Love my Israelite brotha's and Sistah's we the best!!! ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿💯

"Black" as a social descriptor is a prescribed and expected set of BEHAVIORS.
If a person views another person as "Black", there are expectations of how the perceived "Black" person will behave, whether accurate or not.
Same with white, red, yellow, brown.
