Two things: Who ever arranged this great mix for this movie, thank you. Brilliant. Second: Am I the only one who finds glee in seeing the nerdy white boy of the music class just totally get busy with the dancing?
This particular scene never gets old for me. It is a fantastic scene and beautiful voices that sing out to the one and only God who has many names such as "I Am" when he gave Moses his name. He is also known as Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Who Provides and many many more.
nylotus maybe you are Christian... Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door I shall come into him and dine with him and he with Me. Revelation
I believe I can speak for everyone who came to see this video has the movie on VHS, and that their tracking is working extra hard at 2:27 from continously rewinding and replaying that clip with the quadro singers. Thank goodness for digital RUclips!! Replay, replay, replay , replay
when I was in high school we sang this song in chorus we did the choreography and everything even got to wear the bright colorful clothes instead of just a long black dress and heels like usual.
Dante Fernandez went to her concert over the summer of 2017 and she kind of suck. Not just my opinion most the audience said it too. She mainly rapped most of her songs it was crazy.
The simple message that we were created to exhaust a greater power, that's what reminds me that God wants us to be happy, but desperately wants us to live life as His Son demonstrated.
bgs7410 I think it was a last minute thing, but then again I think they had to rehearse it cuz everyone was on point with the dancing and rapping ... so idk
Is it fair that this school had a light show and music while the others merely depended on the piano and static light display? I call it cheating! :P That being said, churches would probably retain more youth if they weren't so uptight with services/mass. Growing up Catholic, the masses were dull and attendance was compulsory no less. Had there been choirs that made it all worthwhile like this one, I'm pretty certain I would have enjoyed mass if only to hear them sing.
Oh LAURYN!!! Her voice is so anointed!! and I love those live vocals at the beggining!!!

Jay OXO are you saying that a white dude can’t dance lol 😂
This part was always lit. I love this movie. Childhood movies.
Same
the part that always gets me is at 0:55 when the sweet little pacifistic priest starts to tear up because he's so moved, or proud, or both.
2:28-2:40 on repeat. SO much talent in those 4 girls!!! Gorgeous :)
Sean Trainor Come and join the chorus! The mighty mighty chorus!!!
What are the name of the four girls who sing that part
+Jacoriya Jones not sure I know one is Lauryn Hill
+Sean Trainor thanks
+Jacoriya Jones (right to left) Lauryn Hill, Monica Calhoun, Tanya Blount, and Dionna Brooks-Jackson
I used to watch this movie EVERY SINGLE DAY as a kid. Still brings tears to my eyes...

I'm so obsessed with 90's music movies like this. I follow the rhythm and the students were better than the others.
I'm not religious nor do I believe in god but I just love this song
Fantastic arrangement. This song made me interested in gospel music
2:27 gets me hype every time
True
my favorite movie of all time it didn't matter what are you or what color you are you always follow your dream and somebody that believe in you too
If 3:00-3:02 doesn't give you life then you don't have a soul. And Lauryns vocals were on point
Musicismysoul94 Favorite part of this song! Lauryn shows out!!!

i'm glad to see a positive response for this video as apose to the negative religious connotations that have been spawned!
a song can be beautiful even if one does not believe in a god or anything :) music is language everyone speaks and can speak to everyones hearts :)
I love this scene
If this song doesn't make you want to sing God's praises then something's wrong with you haha, PRAISE HIM!
I'm not even a Christian but this song does something to me :)
nylotus maybe you are Christian...
Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door I shall come into him and dine with him and he with Me.

Dante Fernandez went to her concert over the summer of 2017 and she kind of suck. Not just my opinion most the audience said it too. She mainly rapped most of her songs it was crazy.
I just had the best 4:35 minutes of my life 😌👌🏻
Why does this song always get me? *misty eyed*
The simple message that we were created to exhaust a greater power, that's what reminds me that God wants us to be happy, but desperately wants us to live life as His Son demonstrated.
+Monty Leverett I'm sorry, but I can't through the rap part.

02:00 😍😍😍
the little preist who tears up is mr noodle from elmos world and he was on jurassic park 3
The little priest is Michael Jeter
+Adam Demgar So sad that Jeter left us all too early back in 2003; he was only 50. His partner said Jeter died from an epileptic seizure.
Dawn Welch Yeah, it is. I rather liked him in the movies I've seen him in
I "tear" that. :")
my school did a dance to this song, will us girls did!
it was awesome day!
How this movie got 7% on Rotten Tomatoes is a mystery to me.
BeanBag343 cause rotten tomatoes is for assclowns
You're down with G-O-D. haha. When i was yound and watching this movie i didn't get the lyrics. Did know MOP dough.
It's incredible how they got that much religious talk in such an perfect arrangement. I wonder If the artists actually were religious.
Lauryn better sang! Beautiful voice!😭😭
2:30 That's the beautiful woman from the movie Best Man
diamondinarough14 yeah mobica6 Calhoun
Ebony (Player's Club)
Were they originally going to do the fast paced dancing and the rapping in their robes or did they decide to do that after taking the robes off?
bgs7410 I think it was a last minute thing, but then again I think they had to rehearse it cuz everyone was on point with the dancing and rapping ... so idk
bgs7410 I think it was planned but they just decided to take the robes 0ff to be comfortable
who are those guys that sing "With the light of day lord"
!!!!!! It gets me every time with Amad in the background singing "fill us'' over and over whew!
