- It was a magical time, home computers sales were just booming and if you were lucky enough, your PC would come equipped with a modem for dial-up Internet access. You would hear the scrambling sound of your phone line connecting you to the world. Launching Netscape and staring at the throbber animation while a single web page loaded.

Ah, Netscape. A name that was charming, memorable and brilliant all at once. I also miss it.
I don’t understand why they don’t bring it out again
Microsoft should have chosen Mozilla engine, instead of chromium, for new edge
I wish it'd make a comeback, I miss it...
i have a netscape install cd in my kitchen as we speak, found it in an old box of things last week lol
I still use my Netscape coffee mug that came bundled with a high quality mouse pad, CD and a 500+ page Netscape Navigator book.
I have several but, nothing to install them on, that'll run them
@@dsunden all I can find is my book
What happened to Netscape? Former Netscape employees form a non-profit organization which is Mozilla and Netscape Navigator 9 is based in the Mozilla Firefox 1
If you like this interface it lives on in SeaMonkey and pale moon browsers
Uh bbs systems were dialup systems that existed aside from the internet before the internet really (some were also available on the internet but doesn't change basic fact)
Awesome video guys 👍 keep up the good work.
firefox web browser version 2.0 was good quality by netscape developers then they broke firefox in next versions
The great thing about BBS and early Internet: virtually all text based for dial-up modem speeds. Writing and reading skills improved, as well written articles became the work horse of world wide communications. Now in 2020s, most websites are hollow shells pumping out 45 minute video files... poorly written, poorly edited, and lower quality than the old 300 baud dial-up internet... :-) Original Internet, better writing, better content.
Netscape 🌎😢
it just ad supported WARRNING browsers.
Cool story, Why not do a story about the real history of online video?
what happened to techspot?
Leaving to find a video without robotic narration....
netscape web browser was good for windows 95 windows 98 windows millennium but another company made another better web browser opera browser 7.0 opera browser 9.64
I doubt ie was superior, bundled in every pc, yes. This helped ms gain a lot of marketshare
IE was NEVER superior just mass installed default
Since Windows 95 if memory serves before that Windows was DOS.
Beware Netscape 1.0 doesn't support modern viruses!
